it was a new day. yerin changed into her school uniform and put on her backpack before she bid her parents goodbye. the morning breeze was enjoyable and yerin loved it. she took the subway and walked to school. by the time she arrived in her homeroom, no one was there except one desk that was occupied in the back.

"oh, hello," the latter stood up greeting her with a smile as soon as he saw her come into the classroom.

"hello," yerin said softly and they exchanged a small bow. yerin made her way to her desk and took out her book.

just 2 pages?

she sighed at how she could have finished the rest of the book last night. yerin took her time reading the last two pages of her book before the halls began to slowly fill up with laughter, shouts, and greetings. the bell rang and everyone was in class. some female students greeting woojin shyly.

"hello," they'd say in a small voice and pulled their hair behind their ear as they walked off with a cheeky smile. the scene made yerin cringe.

yikes

"be sure to complete the packet tonight, i will be checking them tomorrow in class," the math teacher instructed.

"yes~" the students responded. the last bell of the day rang and everyone ran out the door to go home. although left behind was the school's popular student, or 'princess' jieun. woojin and yerin stayed at their desks packing their things.

"woojin," jieun said as she stood in front of the latter's desk.

"yes?" he looked up at her. her brunette hair slightly curled laid on both of her shoulders. her lips a bit tinted with pink and her eyelashes coated with mascara.

"are you free tomorrow after school?" the girl asked.

"uh," woojin thought about the question, "i don't know, why?"

"i want to get to know you, since you're new to this school and maybe i can show you around,"

"ah~ i suppose," woojin took a quick glance at yerin who was zipping up her backpack looking as if she didn't care what was going on. she kind of cared.

i don't care.

she cared.

dammit...

she didn't know why though.

"alright, i'll meet you at the gate after school tomorrow," jieun says. woojin gives a small smile back at the girl as yerin made her way out of the classroom and to the garden. she missed writing her letter at lunch because of the english teacher's extended class period, so she wanted to write after school. taking out her notebook and pen, she wrote.

17-08-25
i guess a lot of things happened. english class was extended until the last minute of lunch and the teacher wouldn't let us eat. you don't understand how important food is. so that went well...but that new male student, park woojin, was asked by jieun for some "get to know and show you around school". i'm pretty sure it was her excuse just ask him out on a date. honestly, it seemed liked she said, "it's a get to know you thing so i can seduce you and make you like me so then we can be that couple whom everyone likes-" yeah that type thing except i wouldn't like "that type of couple". although, i wonder how their "get to know each other" would be.

- yoo yerin

yerin ripped out the page and crumpled it. putting her things away, she went to throw away the ball and went to the bus stop.

at the bus stop, she was greeted by the one and only, park woojin.

"oh, hello," he says as he caught a glimpse of the familiar female.

"hello," yerin greeted back. the two stood at the stop in silence.

"excuse me," woojin called for her. she looked at him.

"i didn't catch your name," he says. yerin showed him her name tag.

"yoo yerin," she says.

"ah~ it's nice to meet you, i am park woojin," he says.

"i know," yerin responded, "you're spoken amongst students around school,"

"ah~" he gives a small chuckle, rubbing his nape and looked at the ground.

"but," he begins, "i'm a little hungry. do you know any good food stands around?"

yerin took the boy to the streets of seoul and went to a stand where they sold teokkboki, fish cakes, and all sorts. they devoured all they could see.

"this is really good!" woojin says, his mouth stuffed with teokkboki. yerin could only laugh at the scene in front of her. yerin reached into her bag and got money to pay.

"ah~ no!" woojin stops the female from giving money to the owner, waving a hand with food stuffing his cheeks.

"i'll pay," he says, "i'll pay," he repeats in reassurance. yerin backed down and stuffed the money back into her backpack. as he said, woojin paid the stand owner the money.

"thank you," yerin said to the boy.

"ah~ you're welcome," he says, "it was really good," they walked in silence back to the bus stop. they waited in silence. not awkward silence, but a comfortable one.

"bye," they bid each other goodbye as soon as yerin's bus arrived. woojin waved to her as she sat at the back of the bus. as the bus drove, a small tug was lifted on yerin's lips.

a genuine smile was plastered on their silly faces.
