I sat there, staring at him determinedly in the eyes. Not even blinking. I would not let anything here get to me. This reminded me a bit of a James Bond film, where that man with a cat is sitting in a chair, stroking the cat. Then, the man spoke. The voice that came out was not the voice that I expected! It was cool, clear and filled the room with a sudden calmness.
"Do you know why you are here?"
I just sat there, quivering. I gulped and then replied with a muffled
" I don't know."
He smiled a brilliant white smile and spoke again. This time more softly.
"You were brought here because we need information. Your father was part of MI6..." WHAT? I nearly jumped right out of my seat and through the roof at this news! When did this happen? I never knew anything about this! Well of course I didn't. My own Mum probably didn't even know. "Ahem! (He carried on) As I was saying, your father and MI6 were feeding us information about a local crime that is going on, but has the ability and power to spread all around the world. As you know, your car was ambushed and your parents shot. I'm sorry to hear this but as they say 'the show must go on!'" I rolled my eyes at this but he carried on.
"We need you to write down anything you know about the job he worked at and the mission he took part in. We know you know things, Laura, so don't try to pretend you don't. And with that he ushered me into the room next door (I hadn't even noticed that!) with a computer in it and closed the door! Truth be told, I don't know ANYTHING! What am I supposed to write down? I've been given an hour.
