Mike arrived a little after that, and the six of you went inside the cafe. While waiting for Mike, you had small chat with the others and got to know them better. It was nice. Well, save for the times Vincent would try to flirt with you. It was adorable, you had to admit, as it seemed like he was being genuinely sincere with his flirting, and not like how Scott had put it, saying that Vincent would do this 'like it was his second job'. However, you paid no mind to him, and just acted like nothing was even happening, occasionally shooing him off. Vincent would pout, but he would always crack a smile afterwards. You all got along together. At one point, the five of you went on to telling facts about themselves. You got to know that Jeremy had a teddy bear, which he would hug to sleep or talk to when he had any problems or conflicts. Vincent laughed at his statement, but the others shot him glances. Fritz mentioned that he had pets at home, including two ferrets that he loved. Vincent revealed that he hadn't kissed anyone yet, which was kind of a shocker for all of us, because.... It was Vincent.. I mean come on. Then he said that he meant the passionate kiss. Sure, he had a few cheek kisses and light lip pecks, but he's never really found that 'special someone' to kiss with passion. You even let out a little fact of your own, saying that you never had friends up until the day you met them. It was true though, for you only maintained acquaintances. You didn't really trust anyone close enough to consider them as a friend. Mike arrived right after and, well, you were in the shop.

The cafe was small and cozy, instantly reminding you of home. Your home wasn't this spruced up, but it somewhat resembled the atmosphere of the cafe, all small and bright with flowers around. Well, that was before you moved out. You haven't seen your old house after that. But that was besides the point. You stopped your train of thought and looked up to the menu above your head. They had various types of coffee and chocolates drinks and teas. You felt like a cup of iced mocha, but you really wanted a cup of fresh latte. You placed your order and let your other friends order their drinks too. Mike asked you if you wanted anything else. He pointed at a few types of cookies and muffins in a glass showcase. You agreed for a plate of chocolate cookies to share with the group.

You went up the the top floor to look for a place to sit. Mike suggested a spot inside in the air conditioning, but you wanted to sit outside and enjoy the evening breeze. Did you mention that you loved the evenings? Well, you do. Mike didn't argue and agreed almost instantly. So, the six of you sat up on the open rooftop with your drinks and cookies at a round table under an umbrella. Jokes were shared. Laughs were heard. And a few secrets were told in soft hushes. It was indeed a good time. You got along so well, and it felt like you have known the guys for ages. You really enjoyed yourself. The others did too. At some point, Mike started telling puns, terrible ones might you add. But it was so ridiculously funny that you couldn't help but laugh along with him while the others either snickered or groaned in disgust. Still, that didn't stop you from making a few puns as well. Soon after, everyone tried making puns themselves, even Vincent, who hated puns. Well, not before a little nudging from you.

All the while you were chatting, you noticed Mike's change in behavior. He was more, how do you put it, open. When you first joined work, you noticed Mike wore a grumpy frown and rarely spoke to anybody. He was also really engrossed in his job, a bit too much actually. He stared at his screen the whole night, save for when he saved you. He was too stressed, and you could guess that it was a daily thing for him. Now, seeing him smile and joke around and laugh made you feel as though there was more than meets the eye. Could there be a different side of him that nobody knew, or possibly even cared? You didn't know for sure, but you do know that he was happy that time. You smiled at the thought of Mike being happy instead of a short-tempered, grumpy potato.

Time skip~

Time passed by quickly without the six of you even noticing. A while later, when it was around 7:45 pm and it got dark, you had to split ways and head home. But before heading to your car, you gave everyone a hug and asked everyone to be on the group chat tonight. Scott had made a group chat for the six of you, so that we could chat for fun when we were not seeing each other during working hours. Everyone promised to be online later that night. They left one by one. Before leaving, Vincent took hold of your hand and kissed it. An act of a gentleman. "Good evening, sweetheart. See you later." He wished you, and backed out to his car before driving off. So, that left you and Mike. You turned to him, he was still smiling, but it kind of... strained? "Hey, you okay?" You nudged his arm. "Yeah. I'm good." He huffed. "Umm. No. You're not, Mike." You raised and eyebrow. "It's nothing. Just that goddamn Vincent making a move on you." He averted his eyes to the floor, not looking at you. You kept quiet, a small smirk making its way to your lips and your hands were brought to your hips in a sassy manner. Mike glanced at you and sighed. "It's just that, please be careful around him, okay? I'm not sure how much of his flirtatious side is genuine." Mike spoke. "Mike... It's okay really. He's a good guy. But I won't get too close with him, I promise." You put your hand on your heart. He smiled again. "There's that smile I never got to see on the first day of work." You smiled back. "Yeah, I guess you could say it's a rare thing." He scratched the back of his head. It was quiet for a while.

"Did you have fun today?" He asked slowly. "Yes. I did, Mike. Thank you for inviting me today. I got to know all of you so well." You replied. "Well, good. I was worried it wouldn't go right." He chuckled. You put a hand on his shoulder. "Mike, it was perfect. Thank you." You looked at him straight in the eyes and said that, before taking your hand away. "Anyway, I hat to be that person, but I really have to get home now. It is getting late." You said with a nervous laugh as you slowly walked towards your car. "Oh, yeah. Sure. I have to get home too. Well, chat with ya later. Good night Y/N." He stammered. Heh. "Good night." You said. Entering your car, you ignited the engine and drove off towards your apartment.

Mike's P.O.V.

I watched her drive away into the night. There was something about her presence that made me smile. Maybe it was her jokes? I mean, I just met the girl yesterday... Yeah, maybe it was the jokes. It had to be. I couldn't quite place the feeling but I knew I didn't get it a lot. It was different. She was different. I sighed and got in my car. I ignited the engine and sat there staring at the road in front of me. I finally placed my arms on the steering wheel and rested my head on them. I sighed again. Was it her? If it was, then...

What are you doing to me?

A/N: So sorry I haven't  updated in a while. It takes a lot from me to get inspiration for this story. But I'll try harder. I'll probably update quite late. Anyways, I hop you'll still be reading this story. Thanks a lot.
