Saturday came around. Three hours to go and Stiles was in a panic. He was so freaked he asked the one person he was too embarrassed to tell. Scott.
"Jackson asked you out and you said yes?" Scott asked.
"Yes!" Stiles whined.
"Well why would you do that?" Scott laughed.
"Man, I don't know! He started asking me stuff and words fell out of my stupid, stupid mouth before my brain had time to process!"
Stiles groaned.
"Well do you like him?"
Scott asked.
"No. Not like that. I don't think...Maybe. No." Stiles said.
"While you figure that out, you have minus 3 hours and counting." Scott said.
"This is the opposite of help. What am I going to do. He's your brother. What's his personality? What can I do to not embarrass him or chase him away? What am I going to wear? Help me!"
Stiles demanded.
"You sound like a girl. Relax.
You can just cancel."
Scott said simply.
"I don't want to cancel. I already said yes and maybe I should give it a fair shot." Stiles said thoughtfully.
"Then what do you want me to do?" Scott asked.
"Tell me how to impress him?
Tell me what he likes?"
Stiles said biting his lip.
"Why does it matter?"
Scott asked.
"I just... Want him to like me." Stiles said shyly.
"He already likes you. And if it's that important to you, I'll help you get ready."
Scott said. Stiles smiled.
"Thank you." Stiles said.
"Go shower." Scott said.
"Yay!" He said happily and ran off. Scott shook his head.
After a few minutes, Stiles came back in his towel.
"Now. What do I wear to this thing? Do I go casual? Formal? Or is formal too much? I don't even know where we're going." Stiles said as he rifled through
his closet.
"Go naked." Scott joked.
"Be helpful." Stiles frowned.
"You can't go wrong with a black t and jeans." Scott said.
"I like it. Now how should I act what kind of personally does he like?" Stiles asked.
"Just be yourself. He seems to like that." Scott said.
"But what if it's not enough?
He gets to know me and runs screaming in the other direction." Stiles said.
"I got to know you and I'm still here." Scott said.
"It's easy because I'm loveable. So shut up." Stiles frowned. Scott laughed.
"Clearly. Just act the way you do with me." Scott said.
"You don't make me nervous." Stiles said shyly.
"You're so adorable. Just pretend it's not a date."
Scott said. Putting up his finger before Stiles could say anything else.
"Fine. How do I look?"
Stiles asked.
"Like a guy in a t-shirt and jeans." Scott said sarcastically.
"Something is very wrong with you. Scott?"
Stiles plead sadly.
"You look nice. Just remember to relax. So you don't seem so tense in front of him."
Scott advised.
"Thanks. You should go before he gets here. I don't want him to think I'm nervous or anything and needed your help." Stiles said.
Scott laughed.
Stiles rolled his eyes as his best friend walked out.
He spent the next two hours 'mentally preparing' for his big date.
But when the door rang he jumped out of his skin.
Almost spraining an ankle running down the stairs.
"I'll get it! Dad, don't answer the door!" Stiles called as he slipped on his sneakers.
He took the time to open the door. "Hey, Jackson. Give me a minute. I just have to__"
"What don't you want me to see?" Sheriff asked.
"Nothing, dad. I'm going out.
I'll be back at a reasonable hour. Jackson, let's go."
Stiles said hushed.
"Are you on your first date? Oh, that's precious.
I'll get the camera." Noah said and ran upstairs.
"Dad, no!" Stiles plead.
Jackson chuckled.
"It's not funny." Stiles pouted.
"Yes, it is." Jackson laughed.
"Got it. So how did this happen? Last time I checked you two were barely friends.
Move closer Stiles."
Noah said. Taking the picture when Stiles reluctantly did what he asked.
He took several pictures before telling Stiles to be "safe" and to be back by sunrise.
"Bye, dad. Jackson. Go. Just go." Stiles said pulling him along. "I'm sorry about him."
"It's okay. He's nice."
Jackson said warmly.
"He's embarrassing."
Stiles laughed.
"Well he helped make you so he can't be too bad. Buckle up." Jackson said. Stiles nodded and did as he was told. His dad did say to be safe.
"So where are we going?" Stiles asked.
"Diner and a movie."
Jackson said.
"Classic." Stiles said.
"We can go somewhere else if__" Jackson started.
"No! Diner and a movie sounds great. It's just...you'll find out that I get super sarcastic when I'm nervous.
I'm sarcastic all the time but more so when I'm nervous.
I also talk a lot more when I'm nervous and...stop me." Stiles took a breath.
"It's super adorable. Don't be nervous. Everything will be fine. Relax!" Jackson laughed and punched Stiles in the arm.
"Ow. I'm soft." Stiles said.
"Yeah...you are kind of a lightweight." Jackson teased.
Stiles rolled his eyes. They talked all the way to the movies. Jackson paid for the tickets and drinks and they watched The Notebook on the big screen.
After the movie was over, they drove down to the local diner where they talked about the movie and ordered food.
"You sure a plate of curly fries and a coke is all you want?" Jackson asked.
"Mm-hmm. I love curly fries. Besides, I feel bad for making you pay for everything, so I'm taking it easy on you."
Stiles said.
"That's very considerate but I've been preparing for this for years. I got it."
Jackson winked.
Stiles blushed.
"Well in that case I'll order a whole chocolate pie, on you." Stiles said. "You sure you don't wanna go dutch?"
"Positive. Now, let's play a game." Jackson said.
"Famous last words."
Stiles joked. Jackson laughed.
"Relax. It's nothing bad.
Let's play "Worst Pick Up Lines" Each of us come up with the worst pick up lines imaginable and the worst one is the winner. I'll start.
Hey. You're hot. I'm hot. Let's hook up." Jackson said.
"That is bad but; I'm a pale, scrawny virgin. Please feel sorry for me." Stiles said.
"You're cute..." Jackson said.
"That's actually pretty good." Stiles said. Jackson pinched his cheek. Seeing Stiles turn red in the face was too much for him. He leaned in to kiss him but then...
"Jackson?" Lydia asked.
"Damn it!" Stiles yelled.
"Lydia. Hi."
Jackson said annoyed.
"What are you doing with the thumb sucker?" Lydia asked.
"It's a date. That you're kinda interrupting." Jackson said.
"Here you kids go." The waitress said.
"Thank you." Jackson said.
"You're not serious. Move over." Lydia said and pushed Stiles to the side.
Earning her a glare from both boys. Make the date a three way by force.
After an awkward dinner, Jackson took Stiles home.
Leaving Lydia at the curb.
"I'm sorry about her. She's..." Jackson winced.
"Annoying? An inconvenience? Pushy!" Stiles finished Jackson's thought.
"Yeah. Pretty much. Apart from her interruption, did you have fun?" Jackson asked.
"Definitely. I didn't embarrass myself, did I?" Stiles asked.
"Nah. You did good. You should go inside where it's warm." Jackson said.
"Okay. Good night." Stiles said shyly and turned away. Jackson grabbed his wrist and pulled him back. "What?"
Jackson planted a soft, sweet kiss on Stiles.
"Stiles?" Jackson said.
"Yeah?" Stiles said stunned.
"You're my boyfriend now." Jackson proclaimed.
"Okay." Stiles said.
"Good night." Jackson said.
"Night." Stiles went inside shaking. Apparently he had a boyfriend now. Cool.
