After school, Malia was laying on her bed in the dorm she shared with Mal and Evie. Jane was pacing in front of her.
"Mom said. 'If a boy can't see the beauty within, then he's not worth it.' Can you believe it?" Jane asked incredulously as she stopped pacing next to Malia's bed. She walked over to where Evie's bed was. "What world does she live in?" She asked sadly.
Malia was laying on her bed with Mal while they did their homework. "Auradon." The Sisters said simply.
Evie sat in the corner of the room in front of a sewing machine. "Malia, do you like?" Evie asked as she held up what she was sewing so that Malia could see it.
"Yeah." Malia lied as she barely glanced up from her homework. "Brings out your eyes." Malia said as she went back to doing her work.
"I know." Evie said, looking at it prideful, before she went back to sewing.
"I'll never get a boyfriend." Jane said sadly, sitting on Evie's bed.
"Boyfriends are overrated." Malia told Jane, trying to make her feel better.
"And how would you know, Malia?" Evie asked as she paused her sewing. "You never had a boyfriend." Evie smiled at Malia making Mal giggle.
"It's because I don't need one, E." Malia said as she looked up at Evie. "They're a waste of time." She finished.
Evie suddenly gasped. "I forgot to do Chad's homework!" She rushed across the room and picked up an unrecognizable backpack. "Oh, no! Oh, no, no, no!" She whispered.
"And that is exactly what I mean." Malia pointed out to Jane as Evie sat at the table and pulled out Chad's homework.
There was a knock and suddenly, a new girl entered the room, uninvited. "Hi, guys! I'm Lonnie." She said with a smile but she was met with blank stares as she looked around the room. "My mom's Mulan?" She prompted but she was met with more blank stares. "No? Anyways, I love what you've done with Jane's hair. And I know that you hate us, and well, you're evil, but do you think you can do mine?" Lonnie asked Malia.
"Why would I do that for you?" Malia wondered, looking up from her homework and looked up at Lonnie.
"I'll pay you 50 dollars." Lonnie offered, holding out the money.
"Good answered!" Evie exclaimed, as she stood up and took the money from Lonnie. "I need to buy more material. Let's see, I'm thinking we lose the bangs, maybe some layers, and some highlights."
"No, no." Lonnie said, cutting Evie off. "I want it cool." She looked over at Malia. "Like Malia's."
"Really?" Evie asked with a grin. "The split ends too?"
Malia finally looked up at them. Evie shook the bag of coins towards Malia. With a groan, Malia rolled off her bed and took out her spell book, opening it to the right page.
