Monday
/ˈmʌndeɪ,/she falls out of bed 10 minutes before her shift starts, cussing the alarm clock she'd set to snooze four....maybe eleven times
she pulls on some items decorating the back of a desk chair, sniffing them before dousing them in deodorant, spluttering till the spray evaporates
the permanent yawn and baggy eyes are her makeup and she throws her hair into an odd, lopsided pony tail that she will never fulfill the promise to braid later
her hand acts as pillow, holding her head off her chest as she dozes slightly at the counter
she crashes back to reality as a customer stumbles into her cozy coffee shop, the warm aroma and rich earthy taste their last resort to waking up so late this chilly morning.
