Chapter One; Home Is Where The Ale Is

  Wind slightly blowing the salty sea air into their faces, as the men tied down the sail, and anchored the boat. They lowered the bridge, and started off the boat hauling boxes and boxes of cargo onto the deck. "That's it men, keep it moving. These materials won't pay for themselves!" The captain called, as he stood proud on the top deck next to the wheel.

  He watched the men, some easily lifting the boxes, and some not so much. His hands were folded behind his back, as his long jet black coat with a single gold lining draped down a little past his knees. His large captain hat stood on his head, with a feather in tack to the side. It floated in the wind a bit, as he continued to watch the crew intently.

  "Aye cap! Why don't you relax a bit while we're here? We can go to the local bar, get some ale! Just like the old times," said a man. He was tall, with short brown fluffy hair, and ocean like eyes. He had a long red coat, with a gold lining. He wore black boots with black pants, and a large scar on the right side of his chin.

  "Why don't you go back to the castle, be where you belong Williams," the captain scoffed. The man rolled his eyes then walked up to the captain, and leaned on his shoulder. "Back up there?" He pointed to the castle, "Not a chance cap." The captain rolled his eyes.

    The crew finished the unloading, then lined up at the bridge. They stood on the sides, standing straight and saluting the captain. The captain walked down the bridge, with Williams following close behind him. "Show off," one of the crew members scoffed at Williams.

    Williams smirked, then got close to his face, "Wanna say that again Leon?" Leon scoffed, growling low at Williams. Williams continued on following the captain down the dock and into the kingdom. People bustled and pushed heading from shop to shop, as quickly as they could. Williams caught up to the captain and smiled foolishly, "So what are we gonna do now?" The captain rolled his eyes, "We have to see King Vincent, remember?" Williams nodded as they walked past all the people and right up to the castle.

  "What are you two doing here?" Deja asked disgust staining her tone of voice, as she raised a brow eyeing their figures. The captain rolled his eyes, "We're here to see King Vincent. That is all." Deja shook her head, "He didn't request you, so you'll just have to-" She was cut off by the king walking into the room where they stood. Deja's eyes widened, as her intimidating tone turned to mush and all nervousness.

  "K-King Vincent," she got out, "They wanted to see you without permi-" Deja was cut off once again by Vincent beginning to speak. "They are fine. I wanted to see them anyway. You may take your leave Deja," Vincent ordered calmly. Deja quickly nodded and went out of the room. Vincent sighed, running his hand through his hair, then looking back at the two. "Captain Zeke, did you retrieve the jewel I sent you to get?" Vincent asked raising a brow.

  Zeke nodded, opening his large coat, and pulling out a green emerald. "Fantastic," Vincent mumbled. Zeke handed him the jewel, as Vincent carefully took it in his hands. Williams had his eyes locked on the jewel, staring at it in awe. "You better not be thinking of stealing this from me Williams," Vincent said not taking his eyes away from the jewel that laid lifeless in his hands. Williams shook his head, saying no and ridding his dazed gaze. Vincent nodded, "Why don't you guys stay in the kingdom for a bit, it looks like you would really need a break."

  Zeke shrugged, "Well once we get our earnings then I have to take my crew on another journey. Won't be for a few days though." Williams made a pouty face that no one seemed to pay any attention too. Vincent nodded sighing a bit, "Your a busy man Zeke." Zeke gave a slight smirk, "I could say the same for you."
