A/N:
Sort of a filler chapter, but I thought I should update. Comment if you liked or have suggestions!

I guess I thought they'd just let it happen.
I thought I could just disappear.
I never thought anyone would try to stop me.
•Hazel's POV•
~two months later~
"What do you mean?! He sent us the information weeks ago, he's back by now."
Frank shifted his weight uncomfortably. "Hazel... he hasn't come back. No one's seen him. Maybe... well, you know how he is... maybe he just left again."
I reddened. "Frank! He didn't just leave again! He said he was coming back. Besides, why would he go anywhere? He's got a sister and friends here, you know," I added defensively.
Frank shifted again. "Um... Hazel, maybe... maybe that's just it."
"What?!" I gazed at him in confusion. What was he saying?
"Maybe... don't you think he might have gone off to wander around the country again because... well, because he'd rather be alone?"
"Frank!! That's ridiculous, he can't keep going off and coming back like that. He's not going to do that forever. I'm serious, even Nico wouldn't want that. He's done with being alone!"
Frank met my eyes apologetically. "Well... maybe that's just it. Hazel... maybe he is tired of leaving and coming back. Maybe... I think this time he's not planning to come back."
I stared. No. No. "No. Frank. He promised. He promised he was coming back!!!"
He didn't leave me. He couldn't have! I was the only sister he had living. We understood each other like no one else could ever do. Wasn't I a good enough sister? He loved me. He promised me.
He promised.
He promised.
The look in Frank's eyes was the worst part.

•Annabeth's POV•
I stared at the messy-haired boy sitting thoughtfully at the desk in the Poseidon cabin. He finally looked up after too long to see my eyes locked on his. "Sorry, what?"
He really should've been expecting the whack on the head I gave him. "Seaweed Brain! I've been talking to you for five minutes! Have you been listening to a word I say?" He just looked at me guiltily. I rolled my eyes. "Fine. We don't have to go to the beach. I'll just go finish Hephestian Tectonics in Northern Eurasia."
He stumbled up. "No! Wait! Beach? Of course I want to go! I was listening, really!" I raised my eyebrow at him. "Okay, well, maybe not, but, we can still go to the beach!" He snaked his arm around me. "C'mon, don't go read your boring Hephestian Tales of North Asia, or whatever. Anna-bethhhhh," he continued. "I'm sorry! Please, go to the beach with me!" I looked resolutely away. No way was I going to cave to those puppydog eyes... No way... "Annabeth?"
"Oh, honestly. We'll go, okay?" I sighed, trying to stay cool. Why did he have to be so... hot...
"Thanks, Annabeth," he said sweetly. Then he smirked.
Gods, I hate him, I thought giddily.
"You're the best girlfriend ever, you know that, Annabeth?" he murmured, nuzzling my neck. Gods...
