Zayn never felt better in his life. There were times he could think of where he felt really good, but this was the top of the pile. His dad, once listening patiently to what he had to say, hugged him tightly. In that moment, there was nothing more than just that hug. It was all about Zayn, not about the fact that he lost his mum, or the fact that he had just gotten punished, but for the sole reason that he was himself, and he was alive and well. That he was smart enough to break out of the terrible situation he was in, and not get killed while doing so. That hug seemed to last an eternity, and nothing could have felt better. Neither Zayn nor Louis knew how long it lasted, but they both knew they were more than happy about it.

When Louis finally pulled away, he called Ed, to update him on everything that happened, and after two hours, all of his children were once again with him, and not scattered and apart. Of course after an incident like this, changes had to be made to their home. Everyone worked as a team to take their beds and put them all in one room. It was hard to decide what room, seeing as no room was large enough to fit all of them except for the gaming room. Therefore, rooms got switched around, and the gaming room was now the communal bedroom. Everyone kept their closets and their rooms as their personal space, but weren't allowed in for a little while. Windows were replaced with doubly-thick glass, and locks that were near impossible to break open. Each door in the home was now to posses a lock, a deadbolt, and a chain lock.

Safety plans were drawn up, and put on the fridge next to the rules, so everyone could always see them. The best part about the time they spent together, is everyone was so well behaved. Louis and Ed both knew this would only last for so long, but it was nice while it was present. As the present was, the boys were starting to get a little hungry, and a little antsy because of it.

"Daddy, can we have dinner soon?" Harry asked, as the rest of the room fell quiet. Dinner sounded so good to everyone, so this was important.

"Alright, I'm hungry too. Shall we all work as a team to make something, or should we order out? Now, no yelling, let's go around the table and say what we think. I'll start by saying I'd rather order out, and Chinese food sounds good." The rest of the family stayed quiet, until Niall agreed with his dad. This led a chain reaction, as Ed agreed, then Harry, then Liam, and finally Zayn. "And Zee, I know Chinese isn't your favorite, but how about tomorrow you choose?" Zayn seemed very okay with this, and as no one else argued, then everyone else seemed okay with that.

Recovery was never going to be easy from this event, but things seemed quite alright for now. L is for the way you look at me, and the way the family viewed each other, everything should turn out fine.
