King Lagan VIII. Ruler of the most vast army to date. The most revered kings in all the land... Or so it seems.
Lagan: Ahh! Drex the deathbringer! I am glad you came so swiftly.
Drex: You summoned me? What do you want?
Lagan: There's a pest in the southern region of the Wastelands and I want him dealt with.
Drex: Manley of the Savages no doubt... Its gonna cost ya!
Lagan: Surely you won't think that I would come to you with nothing in return to slay a dangerous criminal hmm?
Drex: ...
Lagan: All the gold you can carry home!
Drex: You got it.
Manley was not dangerous... His men are. He enlisted some of the most vile killers from the open nation the commoners called savages. This was no doubt a suicide mission indeed for Drex.
Lagan's fortress was very alluring and on his way out Drex made it a point to take it all in. The erecting smell of lumber, sweet pine, oak and cedar. The tall red woods hanging not just beautiful sticks of wood but large housing canopies lit from the skies.
Drex noticed the long wooden floating bridges as he teetered across. Waters showed through to the floor. Drex knew that he was taking a very dangerous mission.
Clear from Lagan's fortress Drex understands that he probably should get some information about the ruins so he won't go in blind.
He visits James Dunn the last remaining survivor from the resistance from the Drakans the Beasts who once ruled the Wastelands.
James talks of 3 bunkers in the heart of the Wastelands that no man has ever come back from. Filled with battle hungry fiends and discarded sentirs from old skirmishes.
On the way Drex crosses through the Dead Meadows the cemetery that houses some of the strongest men to ever live. There he is trapped by a barrage of fists, with a parry to fend off the onslaught Drex tries to make out who it was attacking him.
The attacker was dangerously quick. No trails to see a figure. He turned to Beth, the weakness of his foe showed as Beth bashed through his cheap metal armor.
Easily slashing through skin, bones and all Drex spilled the blood of an unkown fighter. Painful thoughts of whole villages falling at his own hands and the blood curdling screams of children and their demise. Drex is a killer and he does it to find out who were his parents anything in the way is destroyed.
The doom loomed as Drex continued across the desolate barron Wastelands. Large stone statue remnants gave proof for the old legends of a great king whom everyone loved.
A trap. Five men surround Drex with bats and grins from ear to ear. A bellow rings "Crossing the path without being summoned is considered an act of war.
The men close in and Drex rushes them. Drex uses the closest man as a battering ram to hit another slashing both in two. One man grabs Drex and can not subdue him, Drex twists in the air with a heavy downward slash, splitting him in half.
The last two were old bounty hunters from King Ciphon's nation, two cast offs. Drex makes light work of the men with a long slash from the hip rendering the men into ribbons.
Through the blood and sweat stinging his eyes and sand filled every crevice on his face he makes out a shadowy figure in the distance... It seems that Drex has an audience.
