{And removing a harmful thing from the path is a charitable act}

Amir came crashing into my life fast enough to give me concussion. No really he did just that.

It was a sweltering day heat clung to every thing. My shirt, my jeans, my sweaty palms. The sun was high as it lit up the tarmac I could almost smell it burning. A single nail stood out laying in the middle of the pavement face up ready to stab some poor pedestrian. I kicked it to the side out of the path and continued my walk home untill I came across another which I picked up, and another, and another.

The trail of nails eventually led me back to a garage at which point I was sweaty and annoyed after having to clean up after someone. I marched up to the garage, a woman on a mission.

My eyes skimmed over the garage. It was dark and cluttered a half finished red car centre  stage. The walls were lined with shelves supporting hundreds of tools.  My eyes fell on my victim.

He was propped at the top of a ladder a bucket of nails resting beside it. Aha the culprit.  "Hey you" I yelled my finger in the air.

I wasn't prepared for him nor was he for me. His eyes were the first things I noticed. The most beautiful green large and alert staring back at me shining through the dark garage. And that's all I saw before he gave out a yelp and came crashing down ontop of me.

You often see movies where people fall into each others arms. I can assure you that a real life human body is bloody heavy. All I remember was a heavy presence ontop of me asking if I was okay. I got one last peek at those green windows before I succumbed to the blackness that clouded my head.

Those eyes were what got me into this mess. How beautiful those eyes were. How deceptive. How haunting.
