There was a slight knock on my bedroom door before Maggie came bounding in.
"Are you ready for today!?" She said with a big smile on her face. She was wearing a loose fitting t-shirt with some black workout shorts along with some nikes. Her hair was up in a pony tail and she had on a small backpack that carried her water and some extra clothes.
"Almost" I said putting an extra shirt in my bag along with two more water bottles. I had my hair up in a pony tail as well and decided on a grey tank top with black yoga pants that still showed my ankles. It wasn't cold, but it wasn't hot either so I figured these would do. I looked around to see if I had missed anything I needed. I slung my drawstring bag over my shoulders.
"Ready!" I said.
We made our way out of the room and into the lobby to check in. At the front door there was a man with the same clipboard as yesterday, reading off the names of people who had signed up. We walked over to him.
"Maggie and Riley." Maggie told the employee.
He nodded and marked both of our names off.
"Enjoy your trip." He said with a smile.
We smiled in return and walked outside to wait for the shuttle that would take us up to the starting point of the hike. We were a little early, but it should be here soon. I looked over at Maggie who was struggling with the map of the trail that she had picked up. I looked over her shoulder.
"So were supposed to get all the way up there!?" I asked pointing to the 'x' that marked the end of the trial. It was pretty far up the mountain and I began to feel uneasy, but there was no way I was turning back now. I needed to commit to this.
"I guess so." She said shrugging her shoulders.
Just then the bus pulled up and opened it's doors. We gave the bus driver our passes and took a seat towards the back. It wasn't long before the bus started filling up with the other people. I was trying to untangle my earbuds when Maggie leaned closer to me.
"They're coming."
I looked up and saw Harry at the front of the bus handing the driver his pass. Not only have I not talked to him since, but I also haven't even seen him around either. He wore some black shorts and one of this black muscle tees. His hair was down and he was wearing a hat with some sunglasses.
I instantly got a pain in my stomach. I missed him. I missed him a lot. But it was better this way.
Walking up the steps, Rachel followed behind him. Her long hair hung down past her shoulders, held back with only a red headband. She was wearing a top that showed off her thin stomach and some shorts that made her ass look amazing. She handed the driver her pass as she took off her sunglasses and placed them on top of her head. She had a big smile on her face until she turned to walk down the isle and made eye contact with me. She glared at me while taking a seat next to Harry. I watched as she leaned against him and whispered something in his ear. He instantly looked back causing us to make eye contact with each other.
My stomach flipped and I looked down at my feet. This was going be a long day.

The bus ride was quiet for the most part aside from individual conversations people were having with each other. Maggie had been on the phone with someone the whole time, while I had put my earbuds in trying to drown everything out with music. I couldn't help but steal glances towards Harry and Rachel once in a while. They were smiling and laughing with each other and Harry looked genuinely happy.
