Sans strode to the mailbox, exhausted from his day job. Checking his watch, he groaned, realising that his night job started in a few hours. He would only be able to squeeze in 2-3 hours of sleep tonight.

He had called Muffet earlier to confirm she'd be watching Paps tonight. He sighed, knowing that Muffet had probably grown sick of his endless nagging to babysit his little brother, but he couldn't find a job with a decent pay, hence having 3 occupations all at once.

Besides, it's not like Sans was just going to leave Papyrus, who's barely old enough to reach the counter in the kitchen, alone for 8 hours. He'd be scared out of his mind, and then Sans would be eaten alive by guilt.

He spied an older woman walking home. She was a curvaceous golem, and the smooth clay that was her skin heated up Sans' cheeks. He waited to make eye contact with her before winking with a smile. Grillby would tsk disapprovingly at Sans' attraction towards older women, but he wasn't here, so whatever.

Finally turning around and heading back into his apartment, he rolled his eyes at the useless advertisements and brochures that offered him overpriced experiences he didn't care for. Sans was about to through all of it in the trash when the last letter caught his eye.

EndogenyCorp.

Sans' eyes bugged out. EndogenyCorp was famous for being run by W.D. Gaster, who was easily his idol. He was undoubtedly smart, yet strict, and his tests were known for being the hardest ones to pass. He had never taken one of the tests, with the certainty that he'd never pass, which made it mind-boggling on why Gaster's science labs would be sending a letter to him.

This better not be a prank, He thought whilst ripping open the manila envelope. The handwriting that the person had written with was pristine and loopy, as if they used a quill and ink to write it.

Dear Sans the Skeleton,
(Don't judge I have no idea what his last name is)

It has come to our attention that you've received a perfect score on our placement test. Which is very surprising, by the way, that you were able to obtain such a flawless score. It would be a humiliation not to have you come in for an orientation for a position here at EndogenyCorp. It's a wonderful opportunity to have such talented young minds come here to get a chance at changing the world, and we really hope you do think about it, at least.

Orientation: April 13th, 201X
Address: EndogenyCorp, 243 Amalgamate Road

Sans read the letter over. Then again. Then a third time.

He hadn't done a placement test at all.

He never applied for a position at EndogenyCorp.

What was going on?

By the fourth ring, Sans was almost about to just hang up. He had just called his boss a few minutes ago, and needless to say, his boss wasn't happy that he'd be missing his shift.

Sans stared at the shiny business card that was included in the envelope he had received earlier. He hoped he had gotten the number right.

By the sixth ring, he was about to scream. On the seventh ring, someone finally picked up. A high, warbly yet feminine voice spoke.

"Hello?"

Sans exhaled, wanting to calm down. Maybe it would be best if he didn't question his application entry. But he didn't want to find out that it was an error in person. That would be humiliating.

"Heya, this is Sans the Skeleton. I recently got a letter that says I was accepted as a scientist, but I never entered any application or took any tests."

He heard shuffling papers and somewhat cranky grunts from the person on the other side. It took about a minute or 2 before everything was finally sorted out. The person on the other end of the line sighed, then yawned.

"Ah, here you are. Well, you definitely made it in, that's confirmed, and we received an application on January 27th of this year. The applicant didn't say their name, however it was sent through an iPod."

Sans stiffened. He knew exactly who did this. There were only two people who would've done this, could've done this.

He faked a happy voice and bade the lady farewell. "I'll definitely be coming for the orientation"

He heard a squeal on the other end. "We're excited to have you! Goodbye!"

After he heard the phone click, Sans strode out of his apartment. He knocked on the door next to his and waited for his flame headed friend to open the door.

Grillby rubbed his eyes sleepily. "Sans?" He asked, concerned. "Is everything alright?"

Sans stared at him, his eyes narrowed. It wasn't that he wasn't grateful for Grillby and Papyrus' little quest to get him his dream job, but he would've liked a little heads up.

"Actually, no, Grillby, things are not okay" Sans said, crossing his arms. He held up the acceptance letter he received from EndogenyCorp.

Grillby put his glasses on before inspecting the letter. When he was done, he pulled Sans into a hug. "Wha-Grillby-" Sans tried to say, but his friend cut him off. "Congratulations, Sans." he whispered. "I knew you'd make it."

Once he let go, Sans was still annoyed. "Grillby," He started, voice about to fume. "You should've asked me first! What if I was already happy?"

Grillby scoffed. "As if. I know how many hours you put in to a job that you'd never want in the first place. Besides, it wasn't my idea." He said, a suggestive tone in his voice.

Sans stared at him. How did Papyrus, out of all people, know that EndogenyCorp, one of the most prestigious science labs in all the surface was the one that Sans only dreamed of going?

Maybe he didn't know his brother as well as he thought.

He looked at Grillby, who had a smug little smile on his face. He thanked his fire-headed friend before walking back into his own apartment. He felt the silence revolve around him.

He needed to talk with Papyrus.
