The paper landed on the edge of the pavement and as I reached down to grab it a stranger beat me to it.
"This looks quite important miss, I don't think you want to lose it," He said with a charming grin.
"You're a lifesaver thank you much," I replied quickly and out of breath.
"So I don't mean to sound like a stalker, but what do you do at the hospital?" He asked.
"I'm working as the receptionist there, today was my first official day."
At this moment I decided to take a better look at this stranger. He was a very good looking young man. He appeared to be older than my young twenty three years, maybe 30. He was very well groomed with his blonde hair cut close to the side and longer on top. He had no facial hair, which might make other men look too boyish, but he looked just right. His eyes were a light blue, and when I looked into them they sparkled. He was dressed professionally in a suit and tie, his over coat went passed his hips and he also wore a scarf in the chilly weather. I realized that I had spent too much time staring at this man and that he asked me something that I didn't hear.
"Sorry could you repeat that?" I said.
"I said, I work at the hospital too. Maybe we'll see each other around?"
"Yeah of course, it was nice talking to you, but I've got to get going. Thanks for the help," I started walking away.
It wasn't to be rude, but I was already late to the bus so I would have to wait another 30 minutes to get on the next one. I still turned to look back at him and I managed to see him enter the hospital. I walked toward the bench and I sat down and took out the orientation paper. Hospital Issued ID? Check. Do I know my locker number? Check. Lunch hours? Check. Username and passwords? Check. Break times? Check. Good I think I know everything I need to know for right now. I thought to myself. Then I pulled out my cellphone, 6:30 was displayed brightly on the screen.
Hey Winnie, I thought I should let you know that my first day went pretty well! Thanks for pulling these string for me, I really appreciate how much you believe in me. I texted.
I'm so glad to hear that sweetie, you'll have to give me more details soon. Dr. Anderson just got here, so I have to get back to work. Ttyl. ~W. She replied.
At this moment my mind fluttered back to the handsome stranger. I'm such an idiot!!! I didn't even get his name. HONK. The bus horn brought me back from reality and I stepped onto the bus excited to go to the neighborhood market. There I will be meeting with someone from craigslist to see this car I'm wanting to get. If it all works out it means no bus for me! Thank god this man is desperate to get rid of the car and he knocked off $200. Now I only have to pay $800. I just know this is going to be the best day.
