"Excuse me, sir? Are you flartfire123?", I said when I finally made it to the front of the walmart neighborhood market.
"Yes, and you must be Jade Williams. I have the 2004 Ford Escape right here, it is pretty old and the seats are little torn up, but it should run pretty decent." Flartfire said.
"Well, I cannot wait to drive it home, I have the 800 for you right here," I handed him the cash and we both parted ways.
The car was definitely not the best, but it would have to do until I could save up with my new job. After arriving to the parking lot of my apartment building and parking my brand new car in its very own spot, I made my way upstairs to start dinner. After locking the door behind me I blew a kiss to a picture on the wall of my mother and I. It had been years since my mom died, but that pain of losing her was still there everyday. It also didn't help that I lived alone in a crappy studio apartment that was too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer. Tonight the menu was ramen noodles and water. After I finished eating I layed down on my futon and began reading more of The Watchers by Dean Koontz. He is such a talented writer and I am always so captivated by his stories. He can be a little dark in certain novels but nevertheless, they're amazing. By 11 I knew it was a bad idea to read because I had to be up early for work tomorrow. I turned off my reading light, put the book back under my bed and went to bed with four different blankets piled on top of me.
BEEP BEEP BEEP. I shot straight out of bed and got into the shower. Getting ready for work today was important. I just had to look professional, I have a very young face and I need people to take me seriously. I put on my scrubs and tied my hair up in a ponytail. I left my makeup very natural and grabbed the lunch I made for today and my identification card. After grabbing my car keys I went down stairs and headed to work. On the way there I decided to stop by a starbucks to treat myself to a donut and coffee. When I backed out of my parking spot something started to make a stuttering sound and I felt my car die. I couldn't go anywhere, I was stuck and I was ten minutes away from work. Of course this would happen, I thought to myself. I could feel the tears start to form around my eyes. This is so great.. If I had just asked to test drive the car this wouldn't have happened. While I was banging my head against the shitty steering wheel I heard a tap tap tap against the window.
