Another chapter :) I hope you guys enjoy.
"With my brother and his friends" Conner said in a emotionless voice and quickly walked out of the room.
ooo
Through all three periods I have before lunch I thought about what Conner said. Who would I be sitting with at lunch? All day Emily and her friends have shown me their kindness and I should at least be greatful and show it back. But then there is Mandy and I really do need to talk to her about my day. Both have reason for me to sit with them and bother are important at the moment, I just want to make the wrong decision and choose one only to piss off the other.
My eyes drifted toward the classroom clock, 11:30. Great, five more minutes of having to endure my teacher's lecture about classroom rules. There is no point in her telling everyone this because in the next few days all the students will start breaking them. Poor teachers, still think that threatening detentions on people will still scare them.
"Psssst." Someone hissed from my right. I turned my head and saw Emily waving at me. She slipped a piece of paper towards and I looked down at it.
In Emily's semi-perfect handwriting; 'Are you sitting with us at lunch?' Her question mark had a tiny heart instead of a usual dot.
I frowned and took my pen and wrote, 'I honestly don't know yet.'
I passed the note back to Emily, watching as she looked at it and sighed. The bell rang for lunch and Emily put the note in her purse and got up. She picked up her bright pink binder and walked over to my desk and smirked.
"Okay this is the deal, today you can sit with your dorky friends. But tomorrow I want you to sit with my friends and I at lunch. Having you hang with us before and during school but then ditching us for your friends at lunch is not a possibility." Damn, if only I knew what I was getting into when I decided this...
I looked down at my bag. "Sure."
Through my bangs I saw Emily smile and wink at me as she turned to leave the classroom. After she left the room I couldn't help but notice that the aura in the room seemed to lighten up a bit. Creepy.
As I walked down the crowed hallway, I was stopped by someone gripping my arm. I turned my head to find Conner's smiling tan face. My stomach created a flutter feeling as i looked at his perfectly made smile, his lips where like cupids bow.
"Hey, just wondering if you were gonna sit with us at lunch." His deep smooth voice made my chest squeeze. Damn, why is being with Conner having such weird effect on me?
"Uh.." I couldn't seemed to find my voice. "Yes..." It came out mumbled, but I got a feeling he heard.
Conner gave my arm a gentle squeeze then let go as he headed for the lunch room. I touched my arm and smiled, heading where Conner went. My arm had a tingling sensation, making me feel that he was still touching it. No guy other than my dad has ever touched me like that. (not creepy wise -.-)
Once I got my food, I headed towards my table and sat down. Conner was already sitting there along with one of the twins, Sean. Mandy and meg where nowhere to be seen. I looked around as I unwrapped my sandwich.
"They had to do something in class so they're gonna be late." Sean said through a mouthful of chips. I just nodded my head and began picking the jalapeno peppers off my sandwich. A hand appeared and took the peppers from off my plate. Oh hell no.
"Uh, excuse me." I looked up at Conner, who was eating my peppers. No one takes my spicy food, not even him.
"You were taking them off so I'm doing a kind favor by eating them." He smiled and put the last one in his mouth.
My mouth hung open in shock. My poor peppers, eaten, by this pepper stealer!
"But.. Those are amazing! Why would you want to steal my food without asking? Pepper stealer, no one steals my spicy food." My face was straight.
Conner stared at me wide eyed, slowly swallowing the pepper. My eyes narrowed as i stared him down, testing to see if he'll make a come back.
"You're so cute when you're angry." Conner laughed and began eating his food.
I frowned and looked down at my sandwich and slowly began eating it. I thought i actually looked tough for once.. Guess not.
My body flinched when two trays set themselves next to me, Mandy sat next to me and Meg sat on the other side of Mandy. Both of their faces were flush as though they've been running and their breathing was fast.
"Hey guys," Mandy said breathlessly as she hugged me, "hey Abi. How are all you guys doing?"
Conner and Sean said they were fine and laughed as they looked between Mandy and Meg. I said fine as well and went back to eating my sandwich. But stopped when I noticed something on Mandy's neck.
"Hey, what's that?" I said, moving Mandy's coarse balck hair to look at the redish purple circle on her neck. It looked like a bruise but it seemed like it would hurt more than a bruise would.
Mandy quicky smacked my hand away and covered her mark up with her hair again. "Oh.. It's nothing." Her cheeks burned a dark red and Sean and Conner started laughing.
"That there is a hickey!" Sean cracked up.
A hickey? Never have I ever seen one on Mandy and never have I ever heard of Mandy doing such things with guys. And she tried lying to me about it which makes me even more confused. I wanna know the person who gave my best friend a hickey.
"Who was it?" I asked her all excited. "Who is the guy who gace my best friend a hickey?"
The guys started to sound like hyenas as they laughed. Mandy looked away from me and Meg seemed to be blushing now. Everything at the table seemed to feel awkward as I stared at everyone confused. What's going on?
Through his fits of giggles, Sean gasped out, "It was Meg who gave Mandy the hickeys!"
My eyes widened in shock as i looked at Mandy, who's head was bent down, ashamed.
What the hell...?
