It's been a week since I last saw Jerod. I don't know where he is but I'm really worried. Nobody has seen him since the day he told me he was in love with me.

Ever since then, I can't stop thinking about him and how much we've been through. He means everything to me, even though I have a boyfriend. Oh yeah. I forgot to tell you that I'm dating Sean. It's only been a week but I'm scared that something bad is gonna happen.

Today was Friday and I was in chemistry class when I got a very strange phone call. I let it go to voicemail. The bell rang shortly after and I rushed out of class to listen to the voicemail.

Jay, it's Jerod. Look, I'm sorry for what happened last week. I shouldn't have said anything. But listen to me. I know how much you like Sean so to protect you, I did some background research on him. He's a bad person. A criminal of some kind. I don't think you should-

Hey! Who are you talking to?

No one. Jay, just listen to me and stay away from him.

Then the message was over. I locked my phone and grabbed my stuff, quickly running home. I didn't care that I still had a few classes. I wanted to trace the phone call and find my best friend. He sounded in pain and the other person that was there didn't really sound like he was fine.

I got to my house and typed in the phone number. It came up as "New Orleans, Louisiana"

I quickly packed some stuff and for in my car, not bothering to tell Sean where I was going. It's not like anyone would really miss me anyway. I didn't want to go but I needed to save Jerod.

~3 days later~

I finally arrived in Louisiana. Now it's time to save Jerod. I had to trace the call again to pin point its exact location. When I did that, the location came up as "Target Headquarters". Not again.

I typed the address into my GPS and it said that the building was just a few streets away. I honestly couldn't believe I was just a few minutes away from saving Jerod.

If he gets hurt, I'll never be able to live with myself. I really needed to get to him and tell him how I really felt. Living without him would kill me slowly from the inside.

I slowly approached the building and sighed. It was a very old and scary building with broken windows. It looked really run down and creepy. Why in the world would someone hide out here? It's ridiculous.

I got out of my car and slowly walked up to the door. I could hear voices from the other side of the door. It sounded like Sean and his friend Cody. I'm starting to think that maybe this was all a set-up or something.

I slowly walked around to find a window I could look into. When I found one, I looked into it and almost started crying. Jerod was laying on a table. It didn't look like he was willing to do that either since he was unconscious and was covered from head to toe in bruises and cuts.

I touched a piece of the wall and it tumbled through the window, causing a crash in the room. Seconds later, two hooded figures rushed in. they looked around and left. I quickly and quietly pulled myself through the window. As I began walking over to Jerod's body, I felt the tears falling from my face. I slowly put my hand against his cheek and watched my tears hit his skin. His eyes opened quickly as the tears continued to hit him.

"Jay, what are you doing here?" he asked, his voice was barely audible.

"I got your message so I came to save you."

"It's dangerous here. I wasn't expecting you to come."

"I had to. There's something I need to tell you." I said as I began to remove the straps.

"What is it?" he asked as he finished pulling off the last strap.

"Tell you as soon as we're safe and out of here." I said. He finished taking the last strap off his body and I helped him stand up. We headed for the window.

"Where do you think you're going?"   somebody said as we both turned around. We came face to face with the one person I really wasn't expecting. Sean.

"Somewhere that you aren't." Jerod spat.

"That's where you're wrong. I have this place surrounded." he said. His friends all laughed maniacally.

"Well then do me a favor." I said.

"What would that be sweetheart?"

"Let him go. Take me instead."

"Oh but I can't hurt a beautiful human." he said as he stepped closer to me. I could feel his minty breath on my face as I closed my eyes.

"It's too late for that." I mumbled. He backed away and slapped me.

"Don't fucking touch her!" Jerod yelled. He went to jump on Sean but the guards held him back.

"Sean, just let him go."

"How about I keep both of you here while the building gets destroyed? I don't know about you guys but I think that's a better idea." he said. His guards strapped us down on wooden chairs and they all left the room.

"I'm sorry Jay. I didn't wish for this to happen. We're going to die and it's all my fault."

"Jerod, don't blame yourself. It's my fault for coming here."

"I would die either way."

"Well I can't live without you."

"I know. And I can't live without you."

"Jerod, since we're both probably going to die, I have something to tell you."

"What is it?" he asked as he continued struggling against the restraints. I looked up at him and swallowed the lump in my throat. Here goes nothing.

"Jerod, I..."
