When I arrived at my house, I found Jerod sitting in my living room. My mom must have let him in.

"Hey. Mom let you in?"

"Yeah. I need to tell you- is that Sean's sweater?"

"Yeah. I got cold and he let me wear it then he said I could keep it."

"Oh. What'd you guys do?"

"Played games, watched a movie and we kinda sorta kissed."

"You kissed him?"

"Yeah. It felt right."

"Do you like him?"

"Maybe. Why does it matter to you?"

"Because I-it doesn't. I just wanted to know."

"You're lying."

"No I'm not."

"Yes you are. Do you not like him or something?"

"It's not that I don't like him. It's just..." he stopped.

"What is it Jerod?"

"I don't like the fact of you being with him."

"Why?"

"It's not important why."

"Yes it is."

"No it's not " he said before walking to the door.

"Jerod Damien Smith, stop being so afraid and just tell me why!" I raised my voice then looked down. It was what then came out of his mouth that made me bring my head back up.

"It's because...I love you Jay."

"You what?"

"I love you. The way you twirl your hair when you're nervous. When you put your feelings aside to help others. How you can be so caring and forgiving to someone who has hurt you so many times. I don't know how it happened or when it happened but somewhere down the path of our friendship. I fell in love with everything about you. But I waited too long to tell you. I'm gonna go now." he said as he walked out the door without saying another word.

I really can't believe I just possibly ruined everything between us because I kissed my neighbor.
