"Come on you have to help me Wes" I watched from the corner of my eye as my 19 year old brother Ramel spoke on the phone to his best friend of 11 years.

Butterflies ran wildly through my stomach as I thought of Wesley. Wesley Clarke that was him. Since the age of 10, I Rayne Royal Quinns would always recall the way I felt about my brother's friend. Everyone including myself was convinced it was just a crush, so decided to let it go. But as time went on, we all aged together and I realised it was far from just a crush. I mean who was I kidding? I had unfortunately as cliché as it may sound, fallen in love with my brother's best friend. All he had to do was smile and I was putty in his hands. He would ask me to jump and I'd simply ask how high. What was the point of denying it? I adored him. He was Wesley Clarke. However there was a problem, he hadn't noticed me. Although we were close in age with both him and Ramel being 19 and with me being 17, I would always be classified as that annoying little girl that would follow them around like a lost puppy at such a young age.

"Help you with what?" Wesley's baritone echoed through Ramel's iPhone speakers. Shivers ran freely across my body as I thought of ever getting the opportunity to be Mrs Wesley Clarke. Excitement was an understatement.

"Geometry." Came Ramel's reply.

"Of course man. You know I've got you. But hear this, I'm finna call one broad around. Let me holla back?" Wesley said, you could hear the faint smile coming through his speech.

That was all I needed to hear before I began to tantrum out of the room and back into my own. That was my eavesdropping session over. My body embraced my bed as I allowed my emotions to run wild. Why had I been so stupid? Did I honestly think that he had been feeling me even in the slightest? I was interrupted from my pity session with an incoming face time. Wesley Clarke. Great.

Sighing, I quickly attempted to make myself seem almost presentable before answering.

"Royal" Wesley's eyes gleamed as he spoke.

"What?!" I replied in an almost monotone voice with only half of my face on show. To any random person conversing with me for the first time would be able to miss the way my voice quivered as I spoke. But this was Wesley Clarke he liked to believe that he knew every female like the back of his hand and he was definitely going to use this to his advantage.

"What's wrong baby girl?" He asked as he turned down the speakers with Jay-Z's Tom Ford playing lowly in the back.

"Nothing." I replied, maybe a little too quickly.

"Don't lie to me, Ray-Roy." I took a deep breath as I heard that nick name that only those close to me knew. It was the shortened version of my first and middle name put together, Rayne Royal that was me. "I know that something's up with you. Don't lie to me. Do you want to come round tonight?" He asked knowing full well that I wouldn't be able to deny the opportunity.

"I...I don't know if I can. I don't know if my parents would allow that. What about Ramel?" I rushed out, running around the room looking for a change of clothing. His laugh was faint in the background; I knew deep in my heart that even if my parents said that I couldn't go, I would find a way.

"Ray! Ray! Breathe, alright. Listen don't worry about them, just tell them you're going to visit a friend or something. Get ready and I'll come pick you up at 8pm on the dot! See you then beautiful." That was the last thing that was said before the call was disconnected.

I ran down the stairs, two at a time and down into the lounge room where my parents where sat so involved with each other.

"Ma Pops!" I exclaimed as I found myself in between the two of them.

"What'd you want now Princess?" My dad, Carlos better known as Midnight asked.

"Why do you assume that I want something? Can't I just spend some time with my two all time favourite people." I questioned with a slight smirk on my face.

"Do not try it little girl. What are you looking for?" Mom asked as I kissed my pops on his cheek.

"Okay, well can I quickly go out? Just with Keisha! Only for an hour or so?" I rushed out, not giving them the opportunity to interrupt.

"Well I don't see why not." My mother Roselle answered before my father could intervene.

"Roselle, are you crazy? It's 7pm why does she need to be out at this time for?" Dad asked before he also stood up. "Are you really going to see Keisha or you going to see some fuck boy?!" Midnight questioned as he tickled his 17 year old. He knew her like the back of his hand even if I refused to admit it.

"Daddy stop! Don't you worry! I'll be home by 10 at the latest." I quickly pecked both parents on the cheek before running up the two flights of stairs to the 3rd floor. The 3rd floor consisted of two partially large rooms, one for my ladies cave and the other was Ramel's man cave. It had everything. Walk in closets, spare beds, mini bars. It was set up by my dad and my adopted uncle's as a little get away for their Prince and Princess. Even though I knew I could get everything and anything I wanted, I didn't like to be classified as spoilt, but rather blessed. That was it, I was blessed and my parents made sure that whatever happened I stayed on the right track and never took advantage of my blessings.

I stepped into my walk in and glanced up at the canvas of the Quinns Family. The smile was apparent on my face. Nobody's family was perfect, I mean everyone had flaws but no matter what I adored my family.

8:15pm came and there was still no sign off Wesley. It was still early times which left me with the opportunity to catch up on the blogs that I was able to run in my spare time. It had been a while since I uploaded an entry, so I decided to write about how I was feeling at the present moment.

"What do you do when someone has your heart but you don't have theirs? What do you do when they basically control everything you do? Okay here it goes. I'm in love with my brother's best friend. I know, I know it's very cliché but I can't help how I feel. It's just him. He knows exactly the right words to say, the right things to do and I'm his. Even though hes not mine."
