Filled With Pain Chapter 5
Oh, every woman got one
Oh, shut it down when the time comes
Oh, pull out the big guns
Oh, and put your freakum dress on
Soon as he saw me
Turned on by how the dress was fittin' right
Short and backless
See my silhouette in the moonlight
“Are you guys trying to make me into a laughing stock?!” My mother shouted at me and Wesley as she sat us down in the living room.
I pulled at the black bow tie attached to my white shirt – part of my work attire.
“Mom were – well I’m sorry! It wasn’t what it looked like.” I rushed out as Wesley nodded beside me.
“Oh really? Well it looked like my daughter and my sons friend were about to get down instead of working!” She exclaimed while pacing the room.
“Rose please, I would like to apologise on behalf of both I and Ray-Roy. I don’t know what came over me; but can you blame me? She’s beautiful.” Wesley finished off before turning to face me. I watched in disbelief. Who was this guy? My mom took a deep sigh before continuing.
“I hope it doesn’t happen again. You guys need to tell Ramel sooner or later.”
“I prefer the latter” I murmured just as Ramel, Daddy and Big Mike stepped into the room.
“Roselle, leave the kids alone and come with me beautiful.” Big Mike announced while laughing.
“How about you shut up and get your life.” We all shared a laugh as my mom began to channel her inner Tamar Braxton. She and Big Mikes relationship was the epitome of Love and Hate. She planted a kiss on my father’s cheek before walking out with Big Mike.
“Alright, I’m taking a quick trip to Dunkin Donuts. Ya’ll want anything?” My dad announced. We gave him our orders before watching him leave.
“Ray, me and Wes are going to do some work in the den.” Ramel announced.
“You are more than welcome to come and join us.” Wesley stated while walking up the stairs.
“Maybe a little later.” I said as I took my seat in front of the TV watching the latest episode of The Game on BET. 10 minutes had come and gone when I decided to go upstairs. I walked past my mom’s room and paused when I heard whispers.
‘What about Carlos?’ I heard my dad’s name and stopped placing my head closer to the door.
‘What about him? It has to be done’. That was the last thing I heard as footsteps came closer to the door.

“No Cheyenne [Pronounced Shay-Ann], you don’t understand. I know what I heard.” I paced around the room, phone on loud speaker.
“That’s what your lil ass gets for snooping around. How many times do I have to tell you this? If you snoop you’re sure to hear something that’s not for your ears.” Sighing, I agreed before changing the subject.
“So are you coming out tonight?” Tonight was the underground party of the season. Everybody who was anybody would be there tonight, with some artists coming out to perform also.
