Daisy had heard about them, however, she had never actually encountered one. They looked just like us; they lived in houses, wore clothes, ate similar food... There weren't many differences, though one in particular stood out.
They were larger. A lot larger.
Large enough to loom over us.
Large enough to taunt us.
Large enough to kill us.
Giants had always been well known. The young teen had always been told to steer clear of the colossal beings, aware of what they were capable of. She listened, remaining cautious of the hazardous world around her.
But of course, an encounter would be inevitable eventually.

Daisy screamed at the top of her lungs, tears threatening to take her face hostage. It was too late now, too late to turn back. She merely stood there, frozen, paralysed by fear, unable to run.
Before long, two massive digits had wrapped around her torso, pulling her up and into the air as she dangled helplessly from his grip.
The minuscule girl's mouth hung open in speechless terror, and all breath left her lungs as she looked up to meet his hawkish gaze. The giant laughed, shaking his hand a bit so that her body swayed in the air.
Her eyes widened and she stared at him pleadingly. He tutted, shaking his head while her mind reeled, heat creeping up the back of her neck. What would he do to the poor thing?
An amused smile pulled at his lips, and he scoffed at her lack of words, inhaling deeply. He studied her closely, watching as she trembled pathetically in his presence. Abruptly, a dark flash of mischief glistened in his eyes, and he decided to take matters into his own hands.
He would make her talk.
It would be easy.
"Aren't you gonna say hello?" Jayden sniggered, peering down at her.
Daisy found herself shaking her head, a sob rising in her throat as she blinked through her teary gaze. The colossal being merely scoffed, rolling his eyes. With his other hand, he pinched the back of her shirt, loosening his fingers from around her torso and lifting her from one hand to the other.
She gasped. Now, the only thing preventing her from plummeting to her death was his grip on her shirt, and she emitted an almost inaudible whimper.
"Awe, is the poor girl fearful?" He teased, letting her shirt slip a little from his fingers.
Daisy screamed, desperately trying to cling onto one of his fingers and failing miserably. Mind-numbing dread flooded her, and she panted quickly, her chest rising and falling rapidly with every breath.
"You should really consider talking, sweetheart. I mean, I would so hate it if you just slipped from my fingers just like that. It would be awful..." He trailed off with a triumphant grin, loosening his grip on her even more.
"S-s-stop," she whispered, her lip trembling.
Jayden looked shocked for a mere second; he had gotten her to speak quite fast. Then again, it was simple; she was already terrified. He grimaced as if he was pained, pouting and bringing her closer to his face- so close that his lips brushed against her small form slightly, and he brought her away from him a little.
"There we go. Now, what's your name? This time, tell me straight away, or I'll be forced to punish you," he grinned, quirking a brow.
The girl flinched, trying her best to blurt out her name.
"D-Daisy," she squeaked, forcing herself to look into his eyes. Well, it wasn't hard; his face pretty much filled her vision.
He cast her a cold stare, unreadable thoughts flashing through his patronising gaze.
"Daisy..." He repeated under his breath, letting the name seep into his mind.
It was a sweet name.
Jayden often found humans ambling around and he would taunt them, mess around with them. After all, it was all for his own entertainment.
He chuckled, bringing his other massive hand up to the tiny girl's face and wiping away her tears with the pad of his thumb.
"There now, no more crying. Crying makes people ugly, and we don't want that, do we?" He whispered, raising his eyebrows.
Daisy sniffled, slowly nodding and turning away from his oh-so-beautiful face. Before she could squeak out another word, he had already dropped her onto his palm.
"Oh, and I think I'll take you home with me. You girls like sleepovers right? Good. Today's your lucky day~," he winked, smiling down at her before hastily cupping his hand over her, enclosing her in the darkness and stifling her little whimpers.
The minuscule girl didn't even get a chance to oblige- not that he would care.
He couldn't wait to reach his home, and maybe taunt the human some more.
She, however, sat breathlessly in his hand, awaiting her worst nightmare.

❉ I wanted to give this a lil try. I have so many different ideas and I find that I always lose interest before completing an actual story. So... Little ones should be good, right? ❉I had a sudden urge to create more after writing one for 'GT Oneshots' on livingnotdying 's page~ (I'll probably publish the one I wrote for that here too).
& The lil stories there are so fabulous ^
