The two boys had been friends for as long as they could remember.

Daniel had been introduced to Laurence at a very young age; their parents were relatively close. At first, he had been scared of Laurence, which was surprising considering that he was the giant.

The larger boy's eyes widened, and he scooted backwards, his lip trembling. He turned to face his mother; a reassuring smile graced her features.

"P-please don't make me s-speak to him," Daniel whispered, his brows furrowed as he glanced down at the minuscule boy. "W-what if I h-hurt him?"

His mother shook her head, grinning down at the other woman standing next to Laurence. The two mothers had spoken about their sons meeting, and both agreed that it would be a good idea to teach them two the importance of getting along with each other- regardless of size.

She placed a hand on his shoulder, whispering in his ear, before beckoning the other woman to leave the room. They both knew that their children could be trusted, and they giggled, envisioning the larger boy's facial expression.

Before long, both little boys were left alone together, and Daniel was unable to prevent himself from trembling, watching the tiny boy beneath him.

The human boy tilted his head to the side, remaining silent. He looked a little shy, though it wasn't a painful shyness. In fact, he wasn't afraid at all. He was quiet because he was focusing on the colossal boy's features.

Daniel's wide eyes were the deep green of fresh basil rimmed with chocolate. Dark brown bangs obscured his eyes like a sheepdog as he leant forward, forcing himself to keep his gaze on the tiny being.

Laurence unintentionally giggled, staring into the giant green spheres that scanned his every move. His eyes were like all the myriad shades of blue, twirled together to form a whirlpool. At times, they even glistened brightly- cold and metallic.

He inched closer to the giant, unconquered blonde curls hanging loose to his shoulders.

"Hey," he beamed softly, sending a little wave up into the giant's direction.

Daniel gasped, his mouth agape slightly. He didn't know what to do. He feared hurting the delicate being; with someone so small, accidents could happen easily. He stayed quiet, motionless.

The minuscule boy grinned, aware that the giant was afraid. He didn't mind, although, he did feel a little perplexed. Shouldn't he be the fearful one? After all, he was tiny in comparison.

He shot Daniel one last look before running up to an abnormally large toy train, jumping up and down enthusiastically. Meeting a giant was one thing, but giant toys? Yes please.

He stroked the side of it, gasping in awe before running to the next toy, and the next.

The giant stared at him as he observed each and every toy set down for him, his heart pounding when he neared one in particular. On the floor, there was a little teddy bear.

He loved that golden brown bear, with its soft fur and brown padded paws, it's deep brown shining eyes, the depths of which seemed boundless. He even liked the smell of it. It was familiar, special, comforting.

Laurence examined the large stuffed animal, placing a minuscule hand on one of its paws, and staring back at Daniel hesitantly.

"I like your toys," he spoke softly, turning back to face the bear. "Can I play with this one?" He questioned, glancing up at the giant pleadingly.

The giant looked mortified for a moment or so. No one touched his teddy- it was his. It was special.

Without warning, Daniel rushed over to it, hastily grabbing it and hugging it tightly against his chest, before peering down at the tiny boy, his cheeks flushing red with embarrassment.

"N-no. T-that's my toy," he sulked, pouting. "G-go away!"

Laurence looked disheartened, and he slowly nodded in understanding.

"O-oh... It's okay. I guess I'll just s-sit over here then," he mumbled, taking a seat next to the toy train. He stared at it, his smile fading away.

A flicker of guilt showcased itself from behind the giant's deep green eyes, and he latched onto the teddy bear, warily looking down at the human.

Had he been mean? The other boy looked so upset...

Eventually, with a low grumble, he planted a little kiss on the bear's head, before scooting closer to Laurence and placing the bear next to him with wide eyes.

Immediately, the tiny boy perked up, his eyes twinkling with enthusiasm. He grinned widely, running up to the bear and stretching his arms as far as he could to give the bear a huge hug.

After a while, he looked back at Daniel, before running up to his hand.

Before the giant boy had a chance to retreat his hand back, Laurence had already grabbed hold of his finger, clinging onto it.

"You're so nice! T-thanks!" He smiled, not letting go. "I want you to be my friend!" He announced.

The giant looked shocked, opening his mouth to speak. Nothing came out. Laurence soon let go, running back towards the bear and talking to it jokingly, giving it plenty of hugs.

The human changed the tone of his voice, making himself sound rather strange as he spoke to the massive stuffed animal. He soon began pulling silly faces up at the giant, and back at the bear.

It took a while, but it happened.

The scene caused Daniel's lips to stretch into a small smile, and soon, a wide grin.

Finally, the boy began laughing as the smaller being made funny noises as an attempt to amuse him, and he nodded.

"Yeah, w-we can be friends I guess," Daniel responded, grinning to reveal his sweet little dimples.
