Harry's POV
This morning I felt horrible when I got up. I hardly slept for two hours every night because something's been keeping me up. Every night I toss and turn and keep thinking about Mal. I kept thinking 'what does Ben have that I don't have' and then I remembered he's a king and can give her anything she could ever want and I'm just a pirate on some island that's never going to live up to my reputation.
When I got up, took a shower, and finished my daily rounds to the shops to take their money, I headed over to Ursula's restaurant. Uma has always had a major crush on me and she's an attractive girl so of course I'm going to flirt with her, but it's nothing serious. The girl I'm in love with is someone else...wow that still hurts to think it. Uma became the Captain of our pirate crew and I'm her second in command. Honestly she's a great leader and took control of the ports at the Isle and doubled our crew. However, since her mom never loved her and Mal always called her shrimpy she's got a very low self esteem. On the outside she looked calm, cool, and collected but something in her eyes told me she wasn't. Unlike Mal who was sure of every decision she ever made and was is always the leader in every situation.
Mal and I both had it very tough growing up. We both were expected do everything our parents told us to do and to live up to their expectations. When we were little the pressue was small, but as we got older and older life seemed unbarrable. That's why I'm glad Mal is at Auradon away from her Mother and can have a chance to thrive. She deserves the world and for people to actually care for her. As much as I love her, I know Ben can provide the life she deserves.
