Speechless

Two months have passed. Two months of letting people back in. Two months of still being heartbroken. Two months after I told Calvin how I really felt. Eight months of Mon-el being gone.
And not a day goes by that I don't think about him.

I go down to the alien bar to drink my sorrows away. "What can I get you?" The bar tender asks.

"The strongest thing you have." I say sitting down. And I drink. I drink until the bar closes.

"Mam, the bar is closing. It time for you to leave." An employee says to me.

"I've got her, thanks." Alex says helping off the chair.

"Alex. You...you are the bbest." I slur out.

"Yeah I know." Alex says unlocking my door. She laid me down on the bed.

"I tthought about what you saidd about me not....liking Calvin. He's just nottt Mon-el." I say with my eyes slowly falling down.

I heard Alex sigh. She rubbed my arm and kissed my forehead. "Gooddnightt, mmyy sister." I say jumping up to hug her.

She wraps her arms around me and lays me back down. "Goodnight." Alex leaves shutting the door behind her.

And then I see black.

I wake up with my head pounding.

"Ugh." I say almost falling over. I walk into the kitchen to find a bottle of aspirin and coffee. Next to it was a note "You drank a little hard last night. Call me later!" Thank goodness for Alex. I looked at the time. Shoot. I had to be a CatCo in five minutes. I hurriedly put on some clothes and went off to work.

Later that night, Alex and I went to dinner at Noonan's. "Hey!" She shouts.

"Ah. Too loud." I say covering my ears.

"Right. Sorry." We sit down and order.

"How are you doing...you know about the whole Mon-el thing?" Alex asks.

I shrug. "It's been eight months. I tried to put myself back out there and it backfired. I just...I just miss him so much."

"You're going to be fine and you will find someone. I promise." She says paying the check.

"I was thinking sister night. You know tonight."

"I can't. Maggie and I have plans. I'm sorry. Another time?"

"Yeah. Definitely." I say hugging her and went home.

I unlocked my apartment setting down my things.

There was a pathway of rose petals. Candles surrounded them. I steadily followed the path that leads into the bedroom. There was a silhouette in the distance. I walked closer. My mouth dropped open.

Leaving me speechless.
