A/N: Again, the perspective in this chapter will change. I know stories aren't really supposed to do that, but this is for fun and who cares? Oh well, hope you guys enjoy! - NM
A couple of months into officially setting up Overwatch, through more paperwork than anyone could ever imagine, they thought they could officially try to start something and make their difference in the world. The small team of six had grown close in the months. Working all day everyday together. If they were going to put their trust into each other out in battle, they would need to put their trust into each other at the offices.
"Angela," Morrison said to the young doctor. She was a little surprised he used her first name but, not too surprised. All the others used their first names talking to each other. And it was a good enough time than any to. They were starting to become a family, so they should feel like it. She blushed a little, and looked up at him. "speaking on behalf of everyone else in the room, I think we can officially welcome you to our small family." Putting a hand on your shoulder Ana looked at you.
"Indeed it is Jack, I mean we have been piling all of our paperwork on you." She said with a smile.
"It's really no worry at all. I am just glad I can help you all." Angela responded.
"With how much work you've been doing, how much we've all been doing, this is the least we can do." Jack said smiling, and holding champagne bottle.
"Can I?" A voiced said behind him. Jack turned around and smiled.
"Of course you can you big pouting baby!" Jack said handing the champagne bottle to Gabriel. "Oh, the corkscrew's right h-" Jack began but heard a loud pop and sizzling.
"What?" He said getting stares, "Are you guys the only ones that can have a little fun."
"Gabe." Ana said putting a hand to her forehead and shaking her head as Angela giggled.
"Jack should we go check on those burgers?" Reinhardt said to Jack about to get up.
"Oh yeah, we'll be right back." He and Jack then left to retrieve their dinner. They were celebrating, having a night off, a break. And they sure needed it.
After everyone had their food in front of them Gabriel stood up with another glass, and tapped his fork against it. "I would like to propose a toast." Everyone picked up their wine glasses. "As you all are well aware" he said slowly, not struggling, but choosing his words wisely, "I am not an emotional man, and I do not often like to share them, but I think I want to make an exception tonight." Reinhardt and Torbjörn gave a small cheer, he looked over and smiled. It was probably the first time he had smiled. "We have put a lot of time into this, but we are no where near done. The war has just begun. So here's to winning the war, and many years of friendship." He said looking around, and then raised his wine glass again.
"Here here!" Everyone responded and took a drink.
"If that's not a reason to drink, then I don't know what is!" Reinhardt laughed, and set his glass down.
"Alright everyone dig in!" Jack said, and they did.

Jack Morrison had been working on his gun in the lab with Torbjörn, their chief engineer, who in the times pass, had also become the head tech man. It did only make the most sense. Jack knew his way around a gun, after years in the army before joining fighting against the Omnics, he also knew his way around tech a little bit. Anyone who didn't would basically be useless. So when his pulse rifle wouldn't shoot at all, and after some tweaking by himself, he went to Torbjörn.
"Honestly I don't know why it's not shooting. Something must be clogged in there that's making it unable to shoot. I'll try to work on it as soon as I can. Also I think I've made a lead on something that could be game changing, I just need to test it out first." Torbjörn said, setting the gun aside and pulling out some blueprints, laying them across the table, and showing the Jack. They were suddenly interrupted by the noise of the sliding door opening and the doctor in the doorway.
"Sir, I am so sorry to bother you two, but I think I've made a game-changing innovation. She led the two men through the long corridors to her office room, and into a side room, with a glass room behind it. "Sir, do not get mad at me, but I've been testing some of my research and look." She then pressed a button on a keyboard that flipped a hatch. A mouse ran out from the container, and onto a table in the room.
"What am I looking at?" Jack said.
"Just watch this." She said dressing in a lab coat, and went into the room. Walking in she held a small scalpel. She walked over to the table, held the mouse down, and after hesitation slid the scalpel against the mouse causing it to bleed. She pulled out a small glass container, with a transparent yellow substance inside. She then opened the top of it and pored it out onto the little mouse. After a second the bleeding stopped, and the mouse got back up and started walking around. She took a piece of cheese out of her pocket and fed it to the mouse, and locked it back up. She had just successfully healed an injury in a matter of seconds, without and surgery or medicine other than the yellow substance. Jack was starstruck with awe. He stood there without moving as she came back into the room. "Jack?" She said smiling and walking over to her. "Jack are you okay?" He never got like this, this was new.
"Call Reyes, now, he needs to see this. This is game-breaking. This is, this is world-breaking. Can it work on people?"
"Well I haven't tested it on humans." She said walking over to the intercom.
"But do you think it could? Do you think it could work on humans? Healing people just like that?" He said excited. "This is a whole new world. Angela you're a genius!"
"Oh I wouldn't say that..." She said blushing, and hitting the intercom button. "Commander Reyes, could you please come to the Medical Testing Room please, Commander Reyes to Medical Testing Room please, thank you."
"Angela, this if this works on humans, do you know what this means?"
"This is isn't even the best of it?"
"What?"
"I have other theories I hope to be able to test out."
"You've got full funding, do whatever you need, if you can do this to humans, this will change the world forever as we know it." And with that Angela happily prepared the lab room footage she had just shot of the mouse, and prepared it for play for Gabriel. Little did she know it, her life would change, tremendously, for the better for the rest of her life, very very soon.
