"He he he, I'm quite embarrassed by this." - As I scratch my head to this awkward scene, knowing that I'm a guy.

Me and my new friend Maria walked along through the dirt road together. Talking to each other about what happened in the forest, about how I fought them off and became an Arthur-like figure to her. But most of the time she just keep nagging to me of how awesome and pretty I am. Even though it feels awkward calling a guy 'pretty.'

"But you're just so cool Mori-Senpai." - Maria enthusiastically said to me, with an anime-like eyes to her.

"Oh, no need to call me senpai Mary-San." - I told her to not be so formal with me.

As we walk along the path, I noticed that she looks to be like she's struggling holding that basket of furs she's carrying.

"Here, let me help you." - I grabbed the wolf skin off of Maria's hand and to carry it behind my much stronger back.

Since I feel horrible making a kid that I just met earlier do chores for me. I decided I would carry the wolf skins that I got when I slain those wolve's earlier and hold it in to my hands on the side. So that I would feel a little less guilty about myself.

"No, there is no need to Mori-San?!" - She shouted, embarrassingly.

While she tried to get it back, and believe me she did. I forced her to move away from it and told her this;

"No Mary, Making my new friend struggle like this makes me quite uncomfortable and besides I'm the one who suggested it to you so no need to worry about it OK?"  - I explained it to her as best I can.

I leaned out a gentle smile.

While Mary on the other hand has her face splat onto me with admiration written all over her it.

[Wow!!! Mori-San is not only brave, strong, beautiful and smart but she's also very kind and gentle. I've never seen such a person so perfect before. I wish I could be as perfect as you senpai!!] - Mary thought. As she looked at me with sn even bigger anime eyes. With sparkles going off her aura.

Now we have this one cycle of awkwardness; Mary looks at me admirably and when I look away she comes closer to me, so I look at her and she backs away. And I don't want to look at Mary directly, so I need to look at her and then look away again to let out my embarrassment.

[Oh man this is getting more awkward I need to find something that can break this silence oh~

As I'm struggling to keep up this this act all together to save my face. Just as I look at the distance a miracle happened.

I finally found a topic of discussion, in the form of that big grey structure just a few yards away.

A wall.

It's about as tall as two modern Japanese houses tall and made out of stone. In the front I saw a gate that's about five meters tall and there's also four soldiers standing in front.

"Oh hey Mary! Is that where you live?" - Mori asked, genuinely curious about the question.

"Yes! That's my home alright." - She answered very cheerfully.

"Welcome, Mori-San! To El' Niño city!" - Mary said confidently in front of me doing the Gainax pose.

With me and Mary going inside the gate, we were greeted by the guards first. And I saw one of them blushing at me.

It feels weird. But it's alright, it"s male instincts and all that, I still have it within me right?!

After we went about through the gate. The first thing that I saw inside the city are the houses. They were made with a smooth stone texture with minimal designs with a brick-like patern in the corners of the houses. With wooden poles that supports the roof with a mix of wooden planks and thatch coverings (like hays, straws, reeds, etc.) With a chimney in all of them.  They're average but somehow it feels kinda cozy living in these houses.
