I became a hero to the insect alien kingdom; fortunately for me, they don’t eat heroes.

I earned a ride back to Earth; the aliens beamed me down to my room.

I awakened and welcomed a new day; a hazy familiar yellow sun warmed my face.

I assumed that all that had happened was a dream; that’s when I discovered the truth.

I saw an unfamiliar object on my dresser; I picked it up to examine it.

I twisted an end of the crystalline cylinder; a blue light projected an insect creature’s image.

This was a gift to me for helping the aliens; it also proved that I wasn’t dreaming all of it.

The insect aliens thought that I rocked; they elected me into their alien hall of fame.

No one on Earth would believe me; UFO experts would never recognize my experience.

I didn’t care one twit; I was a hero to a bunch of bugs.

Maybe my doubters would end up in bug hell; I on the other hand had seen bug heaven.

My experience gave me a new lease on life; from now on I would never step on a bug.

I also would quit eating pizza before bed; dreams like this are way too scary.

So, don’t ask me what happened; I get bugged too easily.
