This story is told in Silena's POV and takes place during the Titan's Curse.

I was sitting by the stables when there was a loud crash from the beach. I quickly ran to see what it was, making sure my hair was nice and my outfit was straightened, of course.

I averted my eyes as a bright light met my face. It was Apollo's sun chariot or ar least in bus form. It had landed in the water as the people climbed out looking like they wanted to hurl. Thalia was in the driver seat looking pale as can be, still gripping the steering wheel. "Well... everyone survived to tell the take," Apollo joked as he climbed out looking really hot.

I blush slightly as Apollo seemingly winks at me. "Anyways, I best get going," he grinned. "You girls stay safe and if you ever need me. You know my number."

With those words he drove off with his sun chariot as it turned into a Maserati. Percy and Thalia stood in the water while the Hunters grumbled something about boys. I don't really mind the Hunters, believe it or not. They might share different beliefs, but I can at least tolerate them I suppose.

I stood in the arena, practicing sparring when the Hunters walked in all at once. I glanced at them as the older looking girl stood poised and looked serious. "Alright, girls. Thou shall work on your archery out at the targets. I will do some sparring with few of thee," she ordered.

The hunters all nodded and split up.

She looked at me. "May I spar with thou?" She asked.

I was the only one there so I nodded. "Sure," I said.

I took my sword and walked onto the sparring mat. The girl pulled out her daggers and stepped onto the mat herself. She looked elegant and was very flawless in her steps.

As we sparred she finally spoke. "Thou are a daughter of Aphrodite, correct?"

I swung my sword. "Yeah. Head councilor," I said. "I assume you are the Lieutenant of Artemis? Leader of the Hunt?"

"That is me. Zoe Nightshade," she introduced.

"Silena Beauregard."

"Tell me, Silena. Since you are a daughter of Aphrodite," she said, as I sidestepped her daggers. "How do you accept the love of a man and this belief your mother has that love even exists?"

I looked at her I jabbed at her but she deflected it. "Excuse me?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I mean, you preach about this thing called love, and yet there's no evidence or proof that it even exists," Zoe ranted.

She was slowly beginning to piss me off. "I wish not to discuss this with you," I said, gritting my teeth. "I'm done here."

I turned to walk away, trying to hold myself together. "Oh look, a daughter of Aphrodite doesn't have the courage to be seen. Thou art a daughter of Aphrodite! Preach to me the meanings of love. Or art you not a daughter of love?" Zoe persisted.

"Love does exist, first of all," I said, finally. "You Hunters turn away love and men, but they are needed just the same! Love is true meaning and a necessity of life! How could you swear off love and the passion for such a beautiful feeling?"

Now they had me ranting. The Hunters gathered around me, watching me as I ranted. I felt uncomfortable but I would not let Zoe show me up like that. How dare she question if I am a daughter of love? A daughter of Aphrodite.

"Love is meaningless!" she shouted. "It is worthless! All it does is get people hurt! There is no such thing as a thing called love!"

"How dare you come to me and tell me love doesn't exist!" I yelled. "You think love is worthless because one person managed ti hurt you bad? You think turning away love is the answer? What about family? Friendship? Love is a thing that no person can turn their back to!"

"Yet you sit here alone," Zoe said. "Thou dares to claim love! Where is thy love?"

"I don't NEED to be in a relationship to know what love is!" I shouted back.

"You preach to me about love, yet thou have none! I tell thee love is worthless!" Zoe yeller. "It's worthless I tell thee."

Anger boiled in my veins. The Hunters all stared at me, awaiting my move. I didn't really want to have a fight with the goddess of the Hunt. So I held in my breath and stormed out grumbling under my breath. "I'll show them 'Love is worthless'. I'll pulverize them!"
