"Suzz?" I said.

"Where you at?" She ask.

"Here pa sa room ko, I'm on my way na" I responded

"Hurry up, you don't want that 10 suicides right?" She warned me

"Yes po ma. Be there in 3" I joke

"Che! Be here asap" She said

I hang up the call and run my way to the field.

This is probably one of the scariest moments of my life yung malate ako sa first day of training.

It's not an easy road to be part of the varsity team kasi yung school namin holds the record of 9 wins in 9 consecutive years. Goal kasi ng team na mag La Decima kami ngayong year na to.

Out of 40 students na nag try out apat lang kaming na accept sa team and luckily my best friend suzzane and I got in.

Ilang days din yung screening for the varsity team at parang pinatay na kami sa try out. Yung endless catch and throw of ball, batting it, aiming for an advanced hit and getting all the bruises sa ground ball ni coach. It was all worth the hard work and pain. It was nothing when I saw my name on the bulletin board saying I got in.

"Present!" I said as coach calls for each name of the team

"Gonzales, you're almost late!" coach said.

"Sorry coach." I responded

"Be early as you can, this is one of the most popular team in our school, I want to impose discipline in all of you" coach said.

Yumuko na ako papunta sa team ko kasi nakakahiyang ma late. Nag orient pa si coach at nag simula na rin kaming mag practice.

"Gonzales" coach called me

" Yes coach?" I ask

"I saw you playing sa palarong pambansa and I'm quite amazed sa performance mo and because of that I accepted you without any hesitation and I'm gonna put you as substitute for pitcher" Coach said

Pinahirapan pa ako sa try out halos naagnas na yung skin ko sa sobrang init at parang bibigay na yung muscles ko kasi halos di ko na makayanan yung pinapagawa ni coach samin tapos without hesitation daw? Pero mas mabuti na rin yung nag hirap ako para wala silang masabi.

"Talaga po?" I said

"Bakit ayaw mo?" He smirk.

"Coach naman, I'm more than willing po thank you po sa tiwala" I said.

"You better make me proud" he said.

Nag iba na yung kasabay kong mag practice. By position kasi yung pagtraining namin eh. Iba yung mga nasa field na nagpapractice para sa field ball, yung baseman, at pitcher and catcher. Pero kapag tapos na ang by position practice nakikipag tune up game kami sa baseball team.
