(Y/n) P.O.V.
I held my phone up to my ear as I could hear it ringing, "Hello!" Aph's voice came through with a singsong tone.
"Hey, I just wanted to let you know I am heading to the restaurant now. I send you the address and his social media profiles, I will text you when I get home, if he comes with me I'll just leave the porch light on so you know I'm safe." I clutched my bag as I sat in the back of a cab.
"Okay girly! I love you be so safe and text me if you need to bail, I am ready to scream cry if you need me to." I smiled, saying my goodbyes and putting away my phone. The cab dropped me off at the front of the restaurant. I sat outside and text Xander that I was there waiting. I was about seven minutes early.
I sat and scrolled through my feed, waiting and anxiously looking at the time. He said he would meet me here by six and now it was six o' eight. Maybe there's traffic or something, still a little off putting that he didn't text.
"Hey!" A voice came from behind me, I sat up straight and looked around, seeing Xander walking up. He was wearing a nice deep blue button up with black slacks. I stood, my long dress flowing with the gentle breeze. "So sorry I am late, I honestly don't have a good excuse except poor time management." He handed me a single pink rose. "I hope this will make up for it though." He smiled apologetically.
"We'll see. Are you ready to go inside?" I pointed to the front doors, Xander nodded and motioned for me to walk. I nodded and turned, he walked in next to me.
"You look lovely by the way." He looked down at me as we walked. I smiled, butterflies swimming in my stomach.
"Thank you, you aren't so bad yourself." I played it cool as we approached the hostess.
"Reservation for Xander." He spoke smoothly and with confidence to the person behind the counter. A server approached and nodded.
"Right this way please." She smiled at us and lead us towards the back of the restaurant, setting menus on a table, "Your sever will be with you shortly." She quickly made her way back to the front. I sat down on one side of the booth and Xander sat across from me.
"So, (Y/n) what do you do for a living?" He started the conversation.
"I am a lender, I do loans and such. What about you?" I returned the question.
"I am an A/C technician." He smiled at me with his answer.
"Oh, that seems like fun, do you work for a company or are you your own boss?" I continued.
"I actually have my own company, my friend Garrett, if you remember is actually my business partner." He explained.
"Ah, well that's really cool. If you ever need a business loan." I started a joke, "Don't ask me, I only do personal and auto loans." I laughed and so did Xander. "What do you do for fun?" I asked, first dates are kind of not my favorite.
"Hi, my name is Sam, I'll be your server today, can I get y'all started with some drinks?" A short blonde woman stood with a note pad.
"I'll take a water please." Xander was the first to speak.
"I'll just do a the strawberry mocktail please." I pointed to the drink on the menu.
"Absolutely, I'll be right back with those." She smiled, walking off. Without any subtly at all Xander was staring at her ass as she walked away. Yikes.
"Uh sorry, I forgot the question." Xander put his hand to his head before bringing it back down to his lap.
"That's okay, what do you do for fun?" I asked again, this guy is kind of giving me the ick. Maybe I'm judging too quickly.
