Fourteen

A rumble of thunder woke you.
You sat up, letting out a terrified gasp.
For a few minutes, you sat there- hearing your heart meter beep really fast and staccato like.
You breathed and panted, until you settled down... you had woken up from a nightmare.

You couldn't recollect of what had happened... but it felt physically painful. You glanced around, studying your surroundings.
The room was dark, except for the moonlight shining through the side window. There was droplets of rain on the window pane, but there was lightening and some thunder.

You had been there for almost two weeks, and your injuries were healing, but your legs were still numb.
Last time you heard, Rain went to jail and got a thirty day probation for the incident.
Hazel is still recovering.

You knew your parents weren't coming to see you... they never really cared to see you, anyways. You could be dead for all they cared.

Then you suddenly remembered about jinx in your basement... she's probably dead. Oh well.

You sighed in frustration, only to pause when hearing the door slowly creak open. It was that girl... you haven't found out her name yet, but you liked calling her "The Ginger".
When she peered in, seeing you- she gasped in surprise.

"O-Oh! I...I didn't know you were awake, I'll come back later..." She says quickly, before trying to rush out. "N-Nah, it's okay... you can come in," You reply, trying to sit up.
The Ginger smiled sweetly, soon coming in with a tray of snacks.

"I really hope you get better soon! You're friends seem very... um- supportive?"
Ginger says softly, placing the tray near the edge of your bed. You forced a ill-natured smile... "Yeah."
Ginger nodded, smiling nervously.

"Well, get better..!" She says quietly as she leaves, soon closing the door.
You glanced over to the tray of snacks... a bag of almonds, granola bar, and apple juice. Well, it wasn't the top notch meal or snack- but hey... it's food.

After a couple minutes of snacking on it, you found yourself slowly falling back asleep.

"Hehe... thanks!"
You rolled over the next morning to hear giggling. You didn't like the annoying laugh... ugh.
Then the door opened, and Vincent strolled in glancing at... Ginger.
You arched an eyebrow, sitting up in curiosity.

Vincent looked your way, grinning like a idiot. "Hey squirt, how are you feeling?" He asked. "Don't call me that-" You say lightly, before saying- "I'm fine... just tired and stressed."

"What are you stressed about?" Vincent asked in a somewhat sour tone. You shrug, not really paying attention to his comment. "I've been here for almost a month- and It feels like I'm going to go insane," You grumble, clenching your bed sheets.
Vincent narrowed his eyes with a questioning look.

What were you talking about- you were already insane.

"Hah, you and me both.." Vincent mutters to himself, glancing around the room. "What are you talking about?" You sneered.
All he did was shake his head- "Nothing for you to worry about."

You squinted at him.
"Ms. Y/n-" Ginger walked in- only to jump when seeing Vincent.
"Oh! Didn't expect to see you here?" She said softly, blushing when seeing Vincent. Something inside... flickered.
Again.

"U-Um, Y/n- the doctor will be here shortly to check up on you... so- prepare yourself." Ginger stammered, only to leave the room- flustered and blushing. Vincent snickered... "She's adorable."
Your eye twitched, forcing a coy smile.
"I think you should leave?"

Vincent blinked, "What?"
Then you growled, "I said- leave!"

Vincent scoffed, saying something under his breath as he left out.
You exhaled an exasperated sigh- completely irritated now.
You plopped down back onto your pillow, rolling back over to sleep off your anger.

That bitch thinks she can just...
You growled a little.
Well, I'll show her who's she's messing with.

I'll show her.

((Okay, I just want to say- I'm super sorry for not updating in forever!
Of course, I know I'm a lazy person and I tend to get side tracked when working on other stuff... so please forgive me!
And I also want to apologize for the super short chapter..))
