After a nice sleep in Gemma's bedroom, I made my way to the small breakfast nook. Anne's happy morning face pleasently suprised me with a plate of freshly made pancakes.
"Thanks Anne!" I rubbed my eyes as she placed the plate on the table and gave me a large hug.
"No problem! How was your sleep! You haven't slept in that bed since you were sixteen!"
I chuckled. It was true, I used to always sleep in Gemma's bedroom. Our parents were nice enough to let Harry and I have sleepovers. Though, I always had to sleep with Gemma. She didn't mind at all, we actually bonded because of it. Sleeping in her bed now, is just odd without her there too.
"Just like old times, expect I didn't have Gemma to kick me all night." I sat down slowly and began to munch on the delicious pancakes. They tasted the exact same as they did two years ago.
I looked over at the clock. It was One am. Harry and Emily were due to arrive any minute now. And like on queue, I heard the engine of a car cut outside. Anne looked at me with panick in her eyes. She swiftly walked to the front door and swung it open. I quickly patted down my bed head and attempted to do anything to make myself more attractive.
I heard Anne greet Harry excitedly, then I heard her greet Emily nervously. Emily gave a little scream in excitement. I cringed at the sound of her annoying girly American accent. They entered the house and got up from the chair, shuffling over to meet them.
As soon as I was in their vision, Harry came over to me and gave me a great big hug,
"I'm really happy that you decided to come." He whispered in my ear, and I swear I faintly heard a sigh coming from Anne's direction.
After what seemed like a while, Harry let go, and Emily pushed him aside and gave me an awkward hug, like she didn't want to touch me.
"Wow, you smell like the morning!" She teased, yet no one giggled but her.
"Yes, well come in!" Anne lead the three of us to the living room. As we all sat down, I remembered the picture on the mantle. It was sitting there right front and center, waiting for Emily to see it.
"Anne! Tomorrow we must go out for lunch! Or maybe even brunch! Either way, we have to get to know each other!" I saw Anne's eyes wander to the photo, she didn't look panicked though, but at peace.
"Yes, we could maybe go shopping and then for a meal, we could make a day out of it! Just us girls! But sorry Olivia, you can't come." She gave me a small wink. What was Anne trying to do? Was this part of her master plan to make Harry and I spend more alone time together. Leading to us finding our love again?
"Yeah Harry! You aren't allowed either!" Emily stuck out her tongue at Harry, clearly not picking up Anne's real motive.
"Oh well, I guess Ollie and I will have to think of something to do." He gave a careless shrug, Emily didn't even catch on by now. All she wanted was to win over Anne.
"Ahh, darn! Just like old times! The two of us roming around Holmes Chapel with no plan. This will be a big let down!" I said sacrastically, getting ignored by Emily completely while Harry and Anne chuckled.
Harry quiteted and stared straight at the ground, "Yeah, just like old times."
