Chapter five

*1 week later*
Today's the day I'm going to tell Brennen about Justin. I woke up at 6 in the morning to go to school. I got dressed in this:

I said bye to Brennen and walked to school. Once I got to school I saw prom posters all over the wall. 'I forgot about prom' I thought. I saw my best friends running towards me.
- " you're going to prom right." Danelle
said.
-"yeah you have to come" Melissa said.
-"I don't know guys" I said.
-"please we can all go together" they whined.
-"ugh fine" I said.
-"we have to go dress shopping right now because proms tomorrow night." Melissa squealed.
-"what?!" I yelled, causing people to send me dirty looks.
-"sorry" I said to the people walking by.

We ran out of the school doors and started walking to the mall. We walked in a store to see a lot of dresses, we started looking around until we found the one we wanted.

We went to the food court after we bought our dresses. We saw Brennen friends, Colby and I made eye contact. I looked away.
-"can we go" I whispered to Melissa and Danielle. They nodded and we turned around only to be face. To face with Justin, Blake, and Leah. Melissa, Danielle, and I backed up in fear.
-"on three we run" I whispered.
-"1....2....3...run" I yelled, we ran, with them chasing us. We ran past Colby, Corey, Sam, and Elton. They looked at us with worried looks. I saw Colby pull out his phone and call someone. We stopped running and turned around only to see Justin and Leah.
-"don't ever run from me" Justin yelled before slapping me. I fell to the ground with a tear falling down my face. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me.
-"ow Justin you're hurting me" I raised my voice, instantly regretting it. He turned around angrily.
-"don't raise your voice at me" he said and slapped me again.
I looked over and saw we were right in front of the boys. They got up and came up to us.
-"dude what's your problem" Corey yelled.
-"don't lay your hands on a girl" Sam said. Colby walked up to him.
-"if I ever see you lay a finger on her again you're dead." He whispered.
I sat there in Elton's arms crying. I saw Brennen walk in and run up to us.
-"what happened" he said worried.
-"her 'boyfriend' slapped her" Elton said.
Brennen got mad and walked up to Justin and punched him in the face.
Brennen walked up to me and hugged me.
-"why didn't you tell me" he whispered.
-"I was going to tell you today" I said barely above a whisper.
-"why aren't you in school" he said.
-"we went dress shopping for prom tomorrow" I said. He nodded.
-"can we go home" I whispered. He hummed in response.
