My Brothers Best Friend (Colby Brock)

Chapter three

-"who did this McKenzie" Blake whispered
-"I....i..um" I said in fear. He raised his hand up to touch my cheek but I flinched back. Tears started to fill his eyes.
-"McKenzie" he whispered as he wrapped his arms around me. I pulled away.
-"why are you being nice to me" I said
-"because I love you McKenzie Ray Taylor" he said.
-"Blake..I.." I said back. He put his hand on my cheek and connected our lips. I stood still not knowing what to do. 'What are you doing McKenzie you have a boyfriend and you like Brennen's best friend' I said in my head. I heard a horn honk and I pulled away. I looked over and saw Brennen getting out of his truck. He looked at us angrily.
-"get in the truck McKenzie" Brennen said sternly. I stood still and stared at Brennen.
-"I said get in the truck" Brennen raised his voice. I flinched and got in his truck. I looked out the window and saw Brennen yell at Blake but I couldn't hear what he was saying. Brennen got in the truck and looked at me.
-"how old is he" he said.
-"19" I whispered.
-"19?! McKenzie you're 17!" He yelled. He looked at me and saw the bruise on my cheek.
-"McKenzie what's in your cheek" he said.
-"a bruise" I said.
-"how did you get it" he said.
-"I ran into a doorknob" I lied. I could tell by his eyes he didn't believe me but I couldn't tell him about Justin and the bullies. We got home and I changed into this:

I got in bed, I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

(Brennen's Pov)

Why did she lie to me? We had a promise to tell the truth. What's she hiding? Why did she kiss him? I need answers. I get out my phone to text the guys. (B-Brennen, C-Colby, S-Sam, Cor-Corey, E-Elton)

B- guys my little sister is hiding something.

Cor- what do you mean?

B- well she went for a walk when we got home.!she was gone for 2 hours so I went to look for her and I saw her kissing some guy so I told her to get in the truck. I asked her how old he was and she said 19! Then I yelled at her for kissing a 19 year old guy. Then I saw a  bruise on her cheek so I asked her how she got it. She said 'I ran into a door' but she was lying to me.

E- did he hit her?

S- is he her boyfriend?

B-I don't know
(End of conversation)

I sat on my bed thinking about why she lied to me. I heard my phone go off, I looked down and saw it was a text from Colby.
C- Brennen I need to tell you something.

B- what.

C-I saw McKenzie walk in a guys house and they started fighting and I saw him slap her. Then when she ran out she ran into a boy.

B- were you spying on my sister?

C- no my mom lives next to the guy's house.

B- okay thank you for telling me.

I turned off my phone and fell asleep.
