*three years later*
Dear Diary,
So today is officially two years since I graduated high school. Ryan and I have been together for nearly three years as well, we're engaged actually, and currently we are on our way to visit my parents and my little brother, Jonny. As soon as I walked in the door he comes running to see me, "Sissy!" I picked him up and he tried scratching Ryan's arm.
"Jonny no!" I said and smacked his hand. I put him down and he ran off to find mom, who was coming out of the kitchen. She smiled at me and came to hug both Ryan and I.
"You're father is at work sweetie, sorry he couldn't be here when you came to visit." she apologized, "I'm making chicken Italiano for dinner."
I smiled, "Oo my favorite." Jonny ran in with his toy gun and started 'shooting' everyone. "So mom, how are things since I moved out?" I asked getting up and following her into the kitchen.
"Just fine dear, how's things in your's and Ryan's apartment?" she asked.
I leaned on the counter and looked out the small kitchen window to my left, "Small and cozy, but kind of boring." She laughed.
"So when's the big day?' she asked causing me to look at her. She held up her hand and wiggled her fingers, exposing her wedding ring.
"Ohh, we don't exactly have a date picked out, but we're thinking sometime in October." I sighed and she took a sip of coffee. One thing about mom was that she loves her coffee. I smiled and looked up at the doorway to see Jonny and Ryan walking in, Ryan being pulled of course.
Ryan smiled at me, "He sure is cute."
"A cute little terror..." I laughed. Jonny looked at me and pouted.
"I am not." he growled.
"Are too." I argued.
"No!" he yelled.
"Yes." I calmly stated. We went back and forth for about five minutes before mom shut us up with dinner being done. She dished out his plate and set it on the table for him while the rest of us got ours. We sat down as a happy family, something I never thought I'd see or say again, and ate dinner. After dinner I was helping mom with dishes when the alarm system went off.
"We had it installed after you left because Jonny wouldn't stay in the house!" she yelled, her hands over her ears.
"Mommy!" Jonny yelled and I ran for the front door. I stopped in the living room doorway when I seen Ryan's hands up, and Alexander holding my brother hostage.
"Don't anybody move!" he called out, pointing the gun in his hand at us.
"Alex, what is the meaning of this?" I questioned.
"Revenge...you murdered my girlfriend, my one true love! You took everything away from me! Now you'll pay!" he hissed. I took a step forward and he cocked the gun, "I'll do it." I continued walking, testing him, pushing my limits. I knew I was risking my life as well as everyone around me's life but in this moment everything was blank. He fired, the bullet piercing my ribcage on the right side. His eyes grew wide as he realized what he did, "I shot you...I actually shot you!" He looked stunned by what he did, like he wasn't intending to shoot me. Ryan rushed to my side and Jonny slipped away from Alexander and to mom. My insides burned and pain shot through my side. I thought I was going to die. I leaned on Ryan as I looked up at Alexander who was shaking and crying. He rose the gun to his head and whispered, "I love you Anna..." the fired the gun once again. Blood and brain matter splattered up the walls and the door around him. Jonny screamed and Ryan's grip tightened around my hand.
