THERE'S A RED SKY

A Lawson fanfiction

CHAPTER 1

I had finally finished school and was moving to London. I had been a dream for years to one day move away from my sunny home to a colder England. I had hated school and had only stayed around because I knew I needed it to be able to do what I wanted in life. Because of the lack of friends I had done well in school, with all straight A’s. I had only had one true friend through all my school years, and that was Jessica. I met her at the end of my senior year on my way home from work. We had managed to crash into each other and she had spilled coffee all over my white top. As an apology (even though it wasn’t entirely her fault), she had taken me to Starbucks and we sat chatting for over two hours. I had never been comfortable around new people, but her openness and friendliness had taken me inn as if we had been friends for years. She was different from me though. She was loud and always kept the conversation going, she fell in love in the matter of second and out again just as fast, she was adventures and spontaneous. She was that one person who always made me smile when I was down and lifted me up. She took me out on her adventures, even though I didn’t always want to. She kept me alive.

“…so, welcome to London!” I woke up as I heard the end of the captain’s speech on the speaker in the airplane. We had finally hit the ground of the beautiful, rainy Heathrow. It felt like it took forever to get off the plane. I quickly collected my luggage before going outside trying to find a taxi. As I had given my directions to the driver, I could finally relax into my seat. I had already taken care of the apartment so I could move straight in. I was going to work as photographer, and I had to admit I was kind of excited. It was what I had always wanted. It wasn’t a fulltime job, so I had decided to go to school on the side as well, and I was going to study design and so, so that I might be able to do styling for the same company later on.

As we reach my apartment, I paid the driver and got out of the cab with my luggage. Most of my stuff had already been sent to the apartment so I didn’t really have a lot with me, but it was enough to make me struggle to carry it all. I walked into the lobby, where I was greeted by a door man. How fancy, I thought to myself. I heard a deep laugh as from a man, and as I looked up there were four guys coming out of the elevator. Way to go, Lucy, you sure know when to meet people, huh? I thought to myself sarcastically. The shortest of the guys looked at me and stopped.

“Do you need any help with that?” He said to me and looked at me with big brown eyes. He was pretty cute, I had to admit. Unfortunately they all were.

“No no.. No, I’m fine!” I stuttered and carefully smiled to him. God, I’m so awkward, I said to myself in my head. He left out a chuckle and looked at my luggage.

“Sure you are!” He said sarcastically, before reaching out and grabbing the bags in my left arm. He lifted them as if they were nothing.

“Wha.. No, you really don’t have to do that!” I said quickly. I was surprised by his straightforwardness and how bold he was.

“Yes, he does!” I heard a little laugh from my other right side, as a tall guy with dark curly hair reach out for the bags in my right side. They let out a little laugh and the two other boys took what was left of my luggage in their hands. I smiled to them all, and left out a little giggle.
