CHAPTER 3

I looked up to see Adam staring back at me, grinning. His hair was sticking up, and his big brown eyes were fixed on my blue ones. He was wearing black skinny jeans, a white V-neck t-shirt and a leather jacket. He looked better than I had remembered him.

“Adam,” I said and smiled. He reached out and took the bags that were in my right hand. “Again, you don’t have to do that, I’m fine,” I said and laughed.

“Well, I want to,” He said and looked up at me. He was a lot closer than I had expected. He gave me a little smile, before walking towards the elevator. As soon as I was in he pressed the button for the fourth floor and the doors closed. We were left in silence. It was weird. Not awkward, just weird. I wasn’t good around new people, definitely not hot new people, but this was somehow different. The doors opened and he waited for me to get out of the elevator first. I walked over to my door, unlocked it and went inside, with Adam following me.

“You can just put that there, thanks,” I had absolutely no idea what to do or say, so I decided I should probably be alone for the next few minutes, so I don’t faint because he is here.

“No no, I can help you unpack,” He said and smiled. “To the kitchen, right?” He asked and held up the bags that were from the grocery shop. I nodded and he walked towards the kitchen. He had carefully laid the other bags next to the couch. I sighed and got ready to face him again, before taking what was left of the bags and walking towards the kitchen. He had already unpacked half of the stuff, and put it away in the fridge and in various cabinets. I walked next to him and put the bags up on the counter before I started unpacking. As he had finished his own, he started helping me with mine. He smiled at me and I smiled back. Eventually he stopped, as I only had a few items left and he didn’t seem like he knew where to put them.

“So..” he awkwardly started off. “Have you settled in okey?” He asked. He was casually leaning his back against the counter with his hands in his pockets.

“Yeah, it’s really nice here.” I said and there was a little pause. “It suits me quite well actually.” I said and looked over the kitchen to see that everything was in place.

“I’m glad!” He said. I looked over to see him looking at me with those absolutely gorgeous eyes. I gave him a little smile. “Well, I guess I should get going.” He said and started walking towards my door.

“Thanks. Again.” I said and he chuckled. He opened the door and turned around facing me on the way out. I was shocked by his sudden turn and managed to bump into him.

“Wow, careful there.” He said and laughed. He had caught me has I had stumbled, and was holding me by my shoulders carefully. Our faces where so close, only inches apart from one another. The touch of his hands on my shoulders shot through me like electricity. His face went as serious as mine, as he realised how close we were in that second. Suddenly I heard a quiet vibration coming from Adams pocket. “Shit” he murmured under his breath before letting go of my shoulders and reaching for his phone. He quickly looked at the caller-id before answering.

“Joel!” he said and kept his eyes locked on me. I was still in a daze from his touch and how close we had been. I was so lost in the moment that I didn’t hear a single word he said to Joel on the phone.

“Well, that was Joel.” He said as he put his phone back into his pocket. “I have to get to the studio.” He paused for a second before he continued. “If you’re not doing anything, you can come if you want.” He said and kept his stare.

“Ehm, sure.” I said and swallowed.

“Okey, let’s go then.” He said and gave me a smile. He grabbed my hand carefully as we walked to the elevator once again.
