ch. 12
THE BEAUTIFUL DRUNKEN GIRL SKIPPED TOWARDS ME.
i know you I met you down at the mail.
the girl giddily smiled and sipped from her drink,
approaching me at the end of the hallway.
i arrived at the party about an hour and a half ago,
and this was my first interaction.
yes we did meet at the mail.
i nodded choosing my words cautiously not to upset the drunken girl with my monotone.
what mail did you get?
i got postcards from my friends and family and packages from fans.
the girl a told me stepping closer.
I got taxes and rent payments.
I told her bluntly.
you don't seem to happy.
she tilted her head at me.
i was born on a wednesday.
i took a sip of my own drink.
what difference does that make to your happiness?
man, this girl was smart for being smashed.
wednesday's child is full of woe.
i explained to her.
ohh, that makes more sense!
the girl clapped.
so maybe to get rid of some woefulness do you want to come to a musical with me?
the way the girl smiled at me with these enchanting brown eyes,
i couldn't say no.
alright sure.
i smiled the first time that evening.
she clapped her hands together as if i had performed the best thing ever.
smashed she was but easily amused was she.
