held her hand

ch. 33

I HELD HER HAND AS WE WALKED INTO THE RESTAURANT.

it wasn't fancy,

but it wasn't dodgy.

it was just right for a birthday dinner.

dodie had booked us a table looking out on a lake,

which was pretty to watch as the sun set.

there was a strange feeling in the bottom of my stomach,

saying that people were looking and judging.

i didn't want to tell dodie,

but I had been receiving small hate from some of her audience members.

only things that I can understand as them trying to 'protect' her.

which influenced second hand guessing,

of dodie and i's relationship.

I wanted to talk to her so badly about it,

but she was so happy.

feeling so bright and bubbly.

I didn't want to ruin it.

it,

us.
