Introduction
SERENITY'S POV
Everyone made my life seem like it was the best life you could possibly live.
People think it's all fun and games. I get to meet celebrities, travel around the world, live in the biggest, most famous house known.
Don't get me wrong these things are all great, but life wasn't always a walk in the park for me. From my mother being killed to the current threats against me, it's not easy.
But what can I say, I guess that's just the life you get when you're the presidents daughter.
Ever since I was little, my father has always been a big part in the government and politics. While my mother was just your typical southern mom.
Everything changed 2 years ago when my father was elected President. Before I knew it, the Strafford name was household known.
My father, Timothy Strafford, had been there for me always. He never neglected me and let his job get before his family. He always made sure his family was just as happy as he was.
And my mother. I miss her so much. She was kidnapped in November 2013 when she and my father were visiting a school in Texas.
My father was heart broken. We searched months for her. Day after day our hope in finding her grew smaller and smaller. My father grew farther and farther away from me. Before I could even take everything in, my life had suddenly turned anti-social.
He let me out of the house rarely. I had to get homeschooled because of the risk of going to a public school. I had no friends. And to top it off, I never get any privacy when you have 3 body guards surrounding you all the time.
And here I am now, being threatened from the people that had kidnapped and killed my mother.
"Dad, how do you know it's who killed mom!" I shouted, "You don't have any proof! We get threatened day after day. What makes this so sure that it's them?" My father sat at his desk looking at me concerned.
"Serenity, I'm not taking any chances. I don't want anything to happen to you." He quietly said.
"So shipping me to some place in California
is going to help?" I yelled as tears burned my eyes.
"Darling, these threats are getting worse and worse by the day. They took your mother right under our noses. I can't loose you. You're all I have left." He said as he spun his chair around facing the window.
"Go start packing darling. You leave in a couple days." He quietly said.
I ran to my room and slammed my door. My long, beach blonde hair whipped around as I slammed it. I looked around the room. 'I'm leaving this for some joint in California' I thought before walking over to my mirror.
I pretty much was left to fend for myself when my mother was taken. I had time to think all those nights I was left alone to think to myself.
I started packing. I guess it could be worse. He could have sent me off to some country.
2 days later
I woke up and looked around. This could be awhile before I wake up to this again.
I walked over to my mirror. I quickly straightened my hair and walked over to my closet.
My father and mother always expected me to look more formal always. I looked around my closet and picked a white laced long sleeved dress when a drop in the back and a bow. Perfect.
I grabbed my brown sandals and strapped
them on. I then placed my brown leather bag across my body and took my phone. I turned around, took a deep breath. 'Goodbye' I whispered under my breathe.
I walked down the long staircase looking at everything as if I was never going to return. What can I say. I'm a little dramatic.
"Good morning Serenity. You look lovely this morning." My father said buttoning up his suit coat.
I had said my final goodbyes to my father and walked out to the limo that was waiting for me.
"Good morning Miss Strafford." The driver, Mr. Collins, had cheerfully said to me.
The car pulled out of the driveway and I was slowly driving away from the only place I call home. I'm leaving to fly hundreds of mile away to live with some family I've never even met.
I arrived at the jet and had gotten in. I sighed and looked out my window. I'm still in disbelief that my father shipped me away so easily because of threats that we get on the daily.
Arriving in California
I had stepped down the stairs from the jet where the car for me was waiting. I don't know how the did it, but by the time I step out of the plane, my bags are already unloaded from the plane and being put in the car. Although, I don't think they are going to all fit.
We drove about an two hours before we arrived at the home. I took my handbag and one of my Louis Vuitton duffle bags and walked up to the door. I took a deep breathe and pushed my sunglasses to the top of my head. I knocked on the door. "Well, this should be interesting." I mumbled under my breathe.
