(Yes I'm using Ree again, fight me.)

Ree had grown up in a decent sized city, but nothing too busy or crowded. She was used to living in a middle class home with luxuries she took for granted. At sixteen, she was outgoing and had several groups of good friends and nice parents, Michelle and Edward. She had everything she wanted in life.

"Ree, come downstairs please!!" Her mom called from the base of the stairwell. Ree sighed and shut her laptop, gently placing it on the end of her bed before shoving the fluffy blanket away and standing up. She walked down the stairs and silently counted them. 13 stairs. "What?" She asked in an exasperated tone. "Ree, don't take that tone with me." "Sorry, what did you need?"

Michelle looked at Ree for a moment. "We're having a family discussion, please come to the living room." Ree felt a pit in her stomach. Usually when this happened, it was because she was in trouble, or that her parents had found about something she'd done. Ree walked to the living room with a falsely calm demeanor and sat on the brown couch. "What's up..?" She asked, her nervousness reflecting on her tone of voice as she played the her hair absentmindedly. "You're not in trouble, Ree. We just need to talk to you about something that will be happening soon." Edward reassured.

"You aren't getting a divorce, right?" Ree had heard stories of parents gathering the family to break that kind of news. "No no, not at all. You know that this is a rental house, correct?" "We're moving aren't we? That's okay. We can find a nice house, I've seen some for sale signs in this neighborhood even." Ree smiled. "No, Ree.." Her parents exchanged a nervous look. "We are moving.. Out of the city." The smile on Ree's face faltered. "Oh.." She had never taken change very well. It made her anxious. "T-That's fine.. Where are we moving..?" She felt her heart rate increase. Michelle took her phone out from her pocket and turned it on. "I've got a picture." Ree braced herself for the worst as Michelle turned the phone so Ree could see. A rather nice little cabin showed up. "We're moving in the rural area..?" She asked. They nodded.

"We think it'll be good. Your grandpa lives out there, it's close to a lake, it's a very small town so you'll make some friends. Lucille will have a lot of room to run around." Lucille was the family dog, a small black lab mix with a patch of white fur on her chest. "I guess you're right.. When will this be?" "Two days.." Edward sighed. Ree's eyes widened. "I.. I'm gonna spend some time in my room then.."

Ree ran up the stairs and looked around her room, tears welling in her eyes. "I'm really gonna miss this place.."

The next two days had consisted of packing, pep talks, and Michelle praising Ree on how well she was taking the news. Now Ree sat in the back of her mom's SUV as they drove behind the moving truck. Ree watched as their city disappeared and barns with lengthy corn fields near them came into view. She didn't dislike the outdoors, but she was used to city life. This was going to be hard for her and everyone knew it. She tried to fathom why her parents had waited so long to tell her, but really she already knew. If they had told her sooner she wouldn't have taken it nearly as well.

It was about two hours later when the truck and their car pulled into a driveway parallel to the cabin from the picture. Ree got out and stretched. Her legs ached from sitting so long. "Ree, why don't you go walk around? It'll stretch your legs and you'll be able to explore the town." Her mom smiled. "Okay." Ree was a bit excited about this, she had to admit. "Oh, and you'll have signal out here so text me if you get lost." "Got it." Ree waved and began walking. Past the cabin was a sidewalk, and a few small stores like a grocery, a convenience store, and a liquor store. She walked past those and she soon came across something much more inviting. A little carnival with bright colors and music. She took a picture of it and sent it to her mom, asking if she could go.
