George's POV

"You said you would never leave me!" Hermione yelled, slurring her words as her own tears slipped into her mouth. I came down and hugged her. I whispered in her ear.

"He loved you. He thought we would all make it out and he was going to give you the most extravagant wedding you wanted. He truly loved you." She cried at these words.

*FLASHBACK*

I remembered the first day Fred and I saw Hermione Jean Granger. It was raining hard and she had just been sorted into Gryfindor and my twin and I clapped loudly, showing that we are proud of our house.

She sat down and looked down the long table, eyeing her fellow students. When she looked away, Fred tapped me on the shoulder and whispered in my ear. "She's gorgeous! That's the one Ron was talking about being a know-it-all! How could he pass up a chance to talk to her?"

"Fred, she's 11 mate. Calm down, you're 13." I said. I was shocked at his behaviour. Sure she was pretty but was she that pretty?

"Yeah but that's only 2 years difference!" He said.

I remember one day in the common room I was watching Fred play exploding snaps with Lee. I noticed Hermione walking towards us. She was coming from a group of giggling girls. I told Fred and Lee and they quickly glanced up and then back to their game, trying not to be obvious. Hermione sat down next to us and just watched.

Finally once Fred lost at the game, I swapped sits with him so that I would play with Lee. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Hermione tap Fred on the shoulder. "Um Fred, is it?" She politely asked. Fred turned around smiling and nodded. He said no words but I knew it was because he was surprised that she was speaking to him. Whenever he was nervous, he would never be able to find his words. "Well I'm Hermione Granger." She put her hand out to shake and Fred quickly shook it.

Lee and I looked at eachother, and then quickly back to our game. "I was actually wondering if you could help me with my homework..." She said in a small voice. "Well I heard that you aced your transfiguration test in your first year so I was wondering if you could help me." When Fred just sat there with an idiotic expression on his face I saw Hermione's expression change. Finally Fred started to laugh and Hermione turned crimson. I felt bad for her, my brother can be a bit of a git sometimes.

"What's so funny?" She asked, putting her hands on her hips. She greatly resembled my Mum.

"Well, it's just that..." He stood up and grabbed her hand and pulled her to a quiet spot in the noisy common room. I couldn't here them but I was pretty sure he was telling her about how he had cheated on that test using self correcting ink. All of a sudden I saw Hermione running away up to the girls dormitories. When Fred came back he looked confused and angry.

"What the bloody hell did you do to screw that up!?" I asked. He frowned and slumped back down.

"Well, I sort of called her a know-it-all and-"

"What?!" Lee asked. My brother could be such a prat!

"Why would you-" I began but was cut off by him.

"I was just saying what I heard from everyone. I was surprised that she wanted help from me!"

"Well obviously she likes you and then you tell her that everyone thinks she's a know-it-all!" Lee said annoyed. He may have been a prankster but I had to say, he really did get women. Fred's face lightened.

"What... You think she likes me?!" He asked, a hunt of excitement in his voice.

"Well duh. She waited till you lost to me in exploding snaps. She could have asked George for help on the test but she asked you even though you both aced it!" We went to bed early that night and Fred was going to apologise to Hermione tomorrow.

*NOW*

I watched Hermione cry over my dead brother. It killed me to see him like this, to see her like this. I couldn't leave him and neither could she. I hugged her again, letting her know how much he truly loved her.
