Hermione's POV

I was sitting in the library the day after the troll attack. I was reading Hogwarts: A History for about the fifth time already when someone dropped down next to me. I expected it to be Fred but it wasn't, instead it was Harry.

"Hey Hermione." He said awkwardly and my eyebrows creased together. "So, I know how you are GREAT at homework and you are like the smartest first year so I was wondering if you would want to look over Ron and mine's Potions paper for us?" He asked us and I looked into his green eyes that pleaded me. I then rolled my own and took the potions paper from his hand and began to look it over.

"Wow thanks Hermione, you are a life saver." He said and I smiled weakly at him. "And also," he dropped his voice to a whisper "Ron and I found this trap door with a three headed dog on it and we think it's guarding something." Harry said.

"Where did you find it?" I asked him, shooting daggers out of my eyes.

"Uh the third floor corridor...?" He said almost as a question. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. When I opened them I began to scold him.

"Dumbledore said not to go to the third floor corridor! You could've died, or worse, been expelled!"

"I'm sorry." He said and threw his arms up in defence. "We were trying to hide from Filch and that was the first place we saw." He said.

"Why were you up?" I ask him and he goes to open his mouth but I cut him off. "Never mind, I'll just do your homework." I sigh and began to scratch out things and then write the correct word above it. Twenty minutes later I was finished, then Harry handed me Ron's paper.

"Where is Ron?" I ask.

"Well he assumed you would be with Fred and George so he didn't want to come." Harry explained and I laughed

"He thought Fred and George would be in the library?!" I asked him, amused and he just laughed. Since Ron had so many mistakes, it took me about 40 minutes to complete his but when I was finally done, Harry and I decided to go to dinner.

"Thanks so much Hermione." Harry said and put Ron and his paper in his bag.

"Of course, I'm always doing the twins homework." I mumbled and he laughed.

"Speaking of the twins... does Fred like you? Or do you like Fred?" He asked and I felt my face redden so I tried to hide it with my overly bushy hair.

"No, why would you say that?" I asked him as we walked.

"Well it just seems like-"

"Okay fine." I say. "I like Fred." I needed to tell someone because Fred, George and Lee were my only friends and obviously I couldn't tell them.

"I knew it. And he likes you back right?"

"Well he likes me as a friend but that's it. He would never like me like that. I have bushy hair, big teeth and I'm a first year." I say.

"I was only asking because it just seems like it." Fred, like me? He would never like me. He would like girls like Angelina and Alicia. We arrived to the great hall and Fred waved me over. I smiled to myself and lead Harry to sit by them. I sat I between the twins and Lee and Harry sat across from us. I saw Ron sigh and he moved over towards us and sat by Harry.

"What took you so long?" Fred asked me.

"Um I helped Ron and Harry with their homework." I told him.

"Okay" he said and flashed a dopy smile at me, causing me to blush red. I noticed Snape was walking down the hall, going to sit into his seat at the teachers table. Well he was more like limping there but what ever. Then he stared at me and I stared at him. Fred touched my hand, trying to get me back to reality.

"Hermione?"

*NOW*

"Hermione?" Someone called my name and grabbed my hand, pulling hard. Where was I? It was pitch black and felt very claustrophobic. I looked to where my hand was leading and saw bits of light seeping through into the darkness. My head was pounding.

"Hermione?" A familiar voice asked. I recognised as George's voice. He grabbed my hand harder and pulled me out of the rubble. I coughed up dust and leaned against him for support. I looked around and saw the Weasley's still in a huddle around the body.

"Your okay!" He said relieved and hugged me tightly.

"Oh George!" I sobbed into his shirt as I thought about Fred again. "Why did he have to leave me?"

"I don't know Hermione." He said into my hair, I felt tears grip from his face and hit me on the head. "I don't know." He said and squeezed me tightly. "I don't know." He said once more.
