Narrator's P.O.V
Nia's last mission was smoothly compelling. Stealth with tactical precision, and even having to maintain a way for a smooth getaway can be tricky. But for her, it was all worth it. She had plans with Melanie tonight and needs to finish her classes. Before the bell rang for school to begin, she uploaded all the file data of Norman's plans onto a private investigative report. It wasn't long before it gotten all over the news, and Norman and his crew were arrested. While watching the event on TV, she felt satisfaction and pure justice. She felt bad for him, yet was angry with him for trying to take away her dream. Taking him head-on is to be like music to her ears. Fighting til' the very end, and seeing him brutally defeated is be the best thing she could ever imagine, but it must come from her and her alone.
Meanwhile Nia is getting ready for school, Melanie was skyping with Monogram and Chet.
"Sir, did you hear what they were saying on the news?" Melanie asks.
Monogram wasn't happy with what he heard. First having to deal with Jane not wanting to speak. Now he has found Norman arrested, and had plans to kill him.
"What he did doesn't matter right now, what about Nia?" Chet says.
"Nia is getting ready for our classes. We also made plans for tonight."
"Good, also would you happen to know how his data went public?"
Melanie was about to speak, but Monogram interrupted.
"I sent her to get something, and guessing from what happened she found clues and was angry."
Both Chet and Melanie glanced at Monogram in intrigue.
"Sir, just what do you mean by that?" Melanie says.
"You see, Nia will do anything she can to harm me. Whether it's by destroying my company, ruining my life, or even by taking my life," replied Monogram.
Melanie is now in utter silence. If only he hadn't taken her mother away, she thought. But even so, living life this empty hearted isn't good. She wants her to be able to move on.
She opens up and says to him "This wouldn't happen if you didn't take her mother away."
"Melanie" Monogram says unrelenting "I have my reasons, and besides her mother is alive."
"Then why won't you let her see her or at least hear from her?!" She cries.
"She can't see her right now, by all means, they can't meet each other. It could ruin everything."
And by those words, disgust struck her deeply in her heart. Such a horrible thing to do to someone, and not have any empathy.
"Do you honestly care how she feels? What about how she has to deal with? Do you care at all?" she questions clenching her fists.
"She'll live, one day she will understand she can't get her back."
Now the school bell rings, and class begins. She looks at her boss and co-worker one last time but doesn't say a word. She leaves the chat and shuts down her laptop.
Nia's P.O.V
Poor Norman, if only you would have left everything to me. I won't need anyone's help, just me and my abilities.
Going down the stairs, an upset and worried Melanie came into observation. Wondering if something may have happened, I stray along to check on her.
"Hey Mel, his everything alright?" I ask her.
It was unnatural for her to be like this. Melanie is the type of person that looks into the bright side of almost everything, not ending up all gloomy and depressed like this. I guess everyone feels down every once and a while...
