The Falling (a ethan dolan fan fic)

Chapter 2

Katelyn
    I finish writing in my journal, and head down stairs to get a snack. I grab a granola bar an check my phone.

     snapchat-  sis 🙄💞 3 minutes ago
     text message (1) 7 minutes ago
    text messages (3) 8 minutes ago
   I open up my phone. I open up the snapchat from my sister, it's just a streaks picture. I go to my messages and see I have 4 messages from ethan.
      katelyn come over. I miss you. 3:49
      kateeee plzzz. 3:49
      It's snowing it makes me think of you. You love the snow. 3:49
      well i think bout you a lot of the time. but more now. just come over when you see these. 3:50
    I react with a smile. I go up stairs and get a coat. I run down stairs. I say bye to my dad and then run out the door and over to ethan's house.
     I get over there an knock on the door. I wait until I can hear someone run down the stairs. I hear ethan yell to grayson an let him know i'm here. It puts a smile on my face.
    Shirtless ethan opens the door. I still have a smile on my face. Ethan notices.
      "happy to see me, huh?" he says with his cheeky smile.
      "you're happy to see me." I say as I push him out of the way and walk in.
    Grayson is walking down the stairs. I greet him while I take off my coat. Ethan runs pass me.
     "race ya up."
   I drop my coat and follow.
     "use protection" grayson yells.
     "shut up" says ethan at the top of the stairs.
  I finally get to the top. I stand next to ethan.  He gets close enough where I can feel his hot breath on my skin.
     "I win" he says mocking me. He turns around walking to his room.
   I slap his bare back. He stops in his tracks and turns around. He starts laughing and runs after me to get his revenge. We do this a lot. We tend to hit each other a lot. playing of course.
   I run back down the stairs. I run through the living room and down the stairs to the basement. Ethan right behind me. I get down stairs. It's a dead end. I turn around, Ethan runs into me an pushes me up against the wall.
   Our faces are almost touching. Neither of us can seem to catch our breath. It's complete silence. Ethan's eyes trail down to my lips. He seems to be thinking what i'm thinking. Both of us seem to realize it's wrong. Ethan backs away quickly. Laughing it off.
     I take off running back up the stairs. This time Ethan is able to grab me an pick me up. He whispers in my ears
     "I win, again."
    We start laughing. He sets me down. We both try to catch our breath from running.
     "you wanna watch a movie. " I say out of breath.
     "yeah sure."
    We go over to the couch. Ethan puts in a movie, while I get a blanket and sit on the couch. We sit on the couch, both under the covers. It's awkward tension. At least for me. I'm starting to develop feelings for ethan. He's still shirtless, which doesn't help anything. Nothing can happen between us anyways. We're too good of friends, and I doubt he feels the same.

    Kate falls asleep next to me in the middle of the movie. I can't help but stare. She's beautiful. She's always been beautiful. I've always been in loved with her since I moved in next door. Through everything i've liked her. When she had braces. When she had bangs. When she broke her arm. Always.
    I've always wanted to take care of her. I've always want to kiss her. I've always wanted us to be more than friends. I can't. If anything were to happen and us not be friends. I couldn't take it.
    I just have to put my feelings aside. I have to realize she doesn't like me. It won't work out. We're better off friends.
     I look away from kate. I get up an turn off the tv. I go back over to kate. I pull the blanket up so she isn't cold. I run up stairs and put on a shirt. It's cold down stairs. I grab a blanket from my room and run down stairs. I make sure kate is still ok an sleeping. I go over to the chair next to the couch. I lay down. I watch her until I fall asleep.
     She's beautiful. But she's not mine. An won't be.
