Part 9; stay

When I got the notification that jack was trying to FaceTime me, we had just pulled into our driveway. I quickly opened the car door and bolted to my room, I almost tripped over my cats toy laying in the middle of the kitchen but caught myself on the table. I stood in the doorway of my room for a few seconds before accepting the call. I walked over to my nicely made bed and grabbed a pillow to squeeze in my arms. The call started off with a few seconds of silence, before jack started the conversation.

Oh.. well I mean yeah i guess. We haven't been talking for too long but I feel like I know you so well. It's just different-- she cut herself off before she went to deep and said something she'd regret.

I just.. idk. I get this weird feeling when I talk to you. Even though it's just over text and FaceTime. I don't even think about our ages or that we are 1882 miles apart. But then I miss you, and I don't know how. I've never been with you so how is that possible? All I want to be is with you and I know that's not possible and that we really don't know each other. But I still just can't stop thinking about you. And Ik you probably don't feel the same way, and that's totally okay. Just tell me and I'll leave...
There was another few seconds of silence and jack sitting there staring off into space but then he began to talk

Stay.
His face began so glow and he tried his best to hide his smile, but he couldn't help it. My heart was beating faster than ever.. then I heard my mother yell from the kitchen
"Kait, your foods ready"
So I smiled one last time at jack and we both said our goodbyes before hanging up.
