It's dark. I can't tell why but it is. My heart is beating faster. I sense danger. Not knowing what else to do I run farther into the darkness. I can't see anything just darkness. While I run there is this weird sensation. I feel as tho I'm not running at all. I look down and realize something. I'm running in place and I haven't moved at all. Suddenly I hear something behind me. I turn around and I see 4 men mounted on a black stallion. "Who are you?! And what do you want?!" I ask. They say nothing and stare at me with a hatred I could feel. They all were wearing black armor and a dark mask. Out of the mask I see fiery Red eyes.

I can't handle this. I turn around and go to run. This time I feel as though I am running. When the dark knights are out of sight I stop. I hear something. Like the flapping of wings but no bird is to be in sight. Then I squeeze my eyes shut and I open them again. I am in my bed room. The Sun illuminating the small wooden room. It's a very basic room. A bookshelf, closet, and one door. But I look up and see my bird Claw staring at me. I reach out my hand and scratch under his beak and on his small neck. I pull back and he flies on my shoulder. "Good Boy" I say instinctively. I walk over to my closet. I see claw better now. Claw was a Black hawk the I tamed last summer. Since then he has been my companion and partner in crime. I walk over to my closet and change out of my pajamas and into my cloths.

I walk out of my room, through the halls and outside. I stretch and Claw flies back to my shoulder. "Time to get breakfast" I told claw. He gives me a slight nod or what I took for a nod and we run to the market. I live in the biggest city in all of the country. All the people in the counties around visit here at least once in their life. I'm in the suburbs of the city. I'm what the rich call a peasant or maybe a thief but i prefer magician. I walk on the dirt roads passing all my neighbors. Finally we get to the market. Just a bunch of cloth tents with vendors underneath  selling food on this hot Summer day

I look at claw and he flies up and makes his way over to a vendor. I run following behind him. I see claw swoop down and grab an apple. "What the hell?! Dumb bird!" He yells. He is looking at claw and I swoop behind him and grab an apple too. I run past and say. "That's my bird! Don't call him dumb!" I should have just keep running. Idiot! I say to myself. Now the vendor was chasing us. I didn't get a good look at him but he is very big and burly. I run down into an ally and claw lands on my shoulder. The vendor turns in and approaches slowly. I smirk. "See ya!" I say snapping and teleporting claw and Myself somewhere else leaving only a blue mist.

I open my eyes and I see I'm on top of the roof. Next to the ally we were in. The vendor falls down and I can tell he is shocked. "Magic user!" He screams. "I was just attacked by a magic user!" You see our town, kryptos, is the city of warriors. It's the only class that's allowed. A class is what people study in. Everyone can be a warrior, but magic is powerful and dangerous and only a certain few have it. All classes but Warrior are banned. However there is a rumor that another war would take place. I don't believe it.

I watch as the vendor screams down the street I attacked him. I chuckle. I made a big man Fear for his life by snapping. I make my way home or what I call a home. It's an orphanage, very tall and wide wooden building. They don't allow birds so I have to open a window to allow Claw in. I walk up the creaky steps up to the door. I open it. Nobody was there so I quickly run to the stairway, up to flights, down the hall then to the right last room on the left. I open the window and claw flies in. I made it. I thought to myself. I eat the apple and toss claw the seeds.

I sit in my room just staring blankly at a wall. Then I hear a knock on the door downstairs. I walk down and answer it. It was the King's Royal Guard. I gulp as I look at them. "We were told a boy used magic. This is the only house we haven't checked yet." The commander says. I look at him. I usually have something witty to say so I try to think of something. "This is a bloody orphanage"
I say slamming the door in his face. I chuckle then run back to my room. I quickly start throwing everything into a bag. I look over at claw. "Well buddy, looks like we are going on an adventure!" I say as claw flies into my shoulder and I snap. Sending us far from those soldiers.
