Noor told her dad to not to take this route. They are stuck in a huge traffic and it was already 9 AM. Her orientation day has to start from 9 AM. She's late. Punctuality is her main character. She hates it when she is late and when others are late.
She is really good with routes and directions. Her father consults her while deciding which route to take. Though he do what he thinks is right still he likes it when Noor discuss directions with him.
"Dad it's peak time right now for office people, lets just take the route by hills. It's mostly empty and we will reach on time" said Noor.
"I will drop you on time Noor, don't worry" replied her dad in a calm tone. After 30 minutes, still stuck in the traffic.
"We should have taken the other route" said her dad.
Though Noor didn't say anything but from the inside she is having weird and scary images. What will the teacher say to her? Will she scold her for being late? Will she make sarcastic comments about her in front of others? Is Noor the only late girl for her first day of college? What if people will stare at her when she enter the class?
Noor overthinks very much. Even if the situation might be small she will make it even worse by overthinking. Her hands started trembling. She was in stress.
Her dad managed to cut through the traffic quickly and dropped her by 9.20 AM at the college.
"Don't be scarred. Enjoy your day." her dad tried to calm her down.
"Hmm, okay." was all Noor managed to speak. She said bye to her dad and walked towards the main gate.
Looking at the gate her limbs were trembling and she couldn't speak. She managed to ask for directions for the classroom and knowing that she's late she brisk walks her way to the classroom.
Before entering the classroom, Noor adjusted her glasses, steadied her breathing and opened the door.
"May I come in mam?" Noor asked two teachers who were busy with some paperwork.
Then her eyes fell over the entire classroom. All the students sitting there were looking at her. Some laughing with their friends or on her, she don't know. Some actually gawking at her because she was late. The last thing Noor wants is to be centre of attraction. She managed to walk to the nearest empty bench and sat down. She realised her breathing was ragged due to the stress and she tried to calm herself down.
One of the teacher called her name and suddenly Noor got all nervous again. She stumbled her way out of the bench and walked towards the teacher. She can feel people watching behind her back and she couldn't do anything.
It was regarding some paperwork that the teacher called her.
She was back on that same seat with her documents and was quite most of the time.
Noor tried to make a conversation with two students sitting behind her.
"Is there any important announcement that I missed?" Noor asked a girl sitting behind her
"Nope, nothing important. They were only giving these documents" said that girl.
"Although we will be escorted to the auditorium for the speeches and all for our orientation" said the guy sitting beside the girl.
That guy, Noor thought, was handsome and cute. But, she abstained herself to think anything further.
She was in a relationship for 5 years and she wants to stay loyal to her boyfriend no matter what.
A new teacher came and announced that all the students have to move to the auditorium for the orientation program. Noor started walking with both the unknown guy and girl because she don't want to be alone.
