*Katherine's POV*

I stand there with my hands on my hips, staring at my panicking husband. He better be panicking, because right now I'm seeing red. I look at my watch, that's twenty seconds he's wasted. I look up at his feared expression.

"Forty seconds." I say with no expression.

"Dammit Katherine!" He panics.

He grabs my hand and leads me upstairs into our bedroom, that'll soon be just his if he doesn't open his mouth. He pulls out a box from underneath the bed, he blows the dust off it before setting it on the nightstand. He gestures for me to go over and go through it, I furrow my brows before hesitantly walking over to it.

I slowly open it and go through it, they're ultrasound scans of a baby. Polaroids of Mayte while she as pregnant, more pictures of her during the birth. What made my heart drop was seeing the actual photo of the baby itself, it looked like the baby was born way too early. I look up from the photo and look at him.

"What happened to the baby?" I ask in a whisper.

"There were complications throughout the pregnancy. He had to be born early or he could have been a danger to Mayte's life, he only lived around a week. It was incredibly hard for the both of us, but we managed to get through it." He sighs.

I put the photo back in the box and grabbed his hands, running my hands up his arms up to his face

I put the photo back in the box and grabbed his hands, running my hands up his arms up to his face. He looks at me, looking into my eyes.

"Is that what caused the bitterness between the two of you?" I ask.

He scrunched up his nose.

"No, we had problems way before she fell pregnant. She was cheating, our son is probably the real reason she's harassing me for money. She thinks she's entitled to money, because our son is no longer here she thinks she needs some sort of settlement from me. That's not how this works." He rolls his eyes.

He stares in a space...

I feel like an idiot for thinking there was something going on, for not trusting my husband

I feel like an idiot for thinking there was something going on, for not trusting my husband. He'd never betray my trust, I'm the fool. I need to do something about this Mayte problem, it needs to go away...permanently. I think I have an idea.
