Chapter 5

Maddie's P.O.V.

I walk into school the next day and everyone's eyes zoom in on me like laser beams. Lisa and Jaiden run towards me.
"Everyone's talking about you and James!" Lisa tells me.
"Yeah, no one can shut up about it. They keep asking us if the rumours are true. It's like none of them have lives." Jaiden always makes me laugh.
But I'm interested about something else.
"Have any of you seen Dylan? I haven't seen him since lunch yesterday."
No one has seen him. So I just go to my locker to get my stuff for first period.

As I'm getting my crap for class I see Dylan walk up to his locker and start getting his books. I notice a huge black and purple hickey on his neck.

Who the hell gave him that?

*Deep breath* It's none of my buisness, and I don't care.

"Hey Dylan. Where have you been? I haven't seen you since yesterday."
"Oh. Hi Maddie. Yeah. I've been around."

Maddie? What happened to Chica?

"Oh. Um. Well, wanna eat lunch with us?"
"Sure. See you later."
What the hell is up with him?

I sit down for lunch with Jaiden, Lisa, and Dylan. As I take my first bite of my food, I see someone I thought I'd never have to face again. And what she did next made my stomach fall.

"Hey Dylan." It was Natalie Simmons. She went to my old school. We have a... a bad history.

She sat down right next to Dylan and started kissing him. And he. Kissed. Back. It was a heated make out session for 15 seconds that felt more like 5 years before Lisa broke the silence.
"Is there something I'm missing here?"

Thank god for Lisa.

But no one answered her. Natalie just looked me dead in the eyes and asked, "Cool if I eat here?"
Before I could object, Dylan told her that was fine.
She then took him by the neck and they started making out again, right in front of me. I couldn't take another second of it. I walked right out of the cafeteria and into the girls bathroom.

Maddie's Flashback

I walked into Jamie's house party looking for Hunter. He said to meet him here at 10. It was 9:15, so I thought I'd surprise him.
I saw his best friend Cole and asked him where Hunter was. He directed me to the kitchen.

I walked into the maze of drunk people looking for my boyfriend. But I couldn't seem to find him anywhere. Finally I saw the back of his head.
But I soon realized his face was attached to another girl's. They were in the middle of an intense make out.
I broke them up by screaming.

"What the hell?!"
"Babe, I-"
"Don't call me babe. Who the hell is this? What are you doing??!!!"
"You weren't supposed to be here until 10..."
"That's your excuse?! What the fuck?!"
I turned to the girl.
"Who are you?!!!"
"Hi. I'm Natalie Simmons. I'm the side chick your precious boyfriend Hunter has been seeing for the past month and a half."
She shook my hand and then took my boyfriends face and smashed it into hers. They started kissing again.
I smacked her right across the face.
"You're a fucking bitch."
Then I turned to my ex-boyfriend.
"Never call me. I never want to see you again." And I smacked him too for good measure. Then I stormed out of Jamie's house. I could hear them both calling after me.

"Babe! Wait please! I love you!"

"It was very nice meeting you! Hunter's a great kisser!"

I stuck the finger at both of them. I didn't even bother to turn around.
I got into my car and drove home, and tears were streaming down my face the whole way.

End of Flashback

Dylan? With Natalie? What was he doing?
But then I remembered. He had no idea of the past me and Natalie had. To him she's just a girl.
But still. What was she even doing here? Is she following me? Tormenting me on purpose?

Wait. Why do I even care? She can ruin whoever she wants. Dylan's not my boyfriend.

I hear the bathroom door open.
"Maddie? What happened to you?"
It's Lisa. I open the stall door and she sees my tear stained face. She instantly wraps me in a hug.

"Oh honey, what's wrong?"
She stops hugging me an looks into my eyes.

"Can you sleep over at my house tonight? I really need a girls night."
"Sure. I'll be there after school and I can stay all day tomorrow to help you get ready for your date."
Oh shit. My date. I forgot.

"Thank you."

Dylan's P.O.V.

I was eating lunch with Maddie and her friends and I almost forgot about all those weird feelings about her swirling in my head. I was just enjoying her company.

But of course, things can never go right for me. Because who decides to show up? Natalie. Clearly this girl doesn't understand the concept of a one night stand.

"Hey Dylan." And then we're making out.
"Is there something we're missing here?" Her friend Lisa interrupts. I immediately pull away and my cheeks flush. I look at Maddie and she looks horrified.
"Cool if I eat here?"
"Yeah. That's fine."
She kisses me again. When we pull away I notice Maddie's gone. I feel great and shitty at the same time. Lisa immediately gets up to go look for Maddie.
Natalie smirks and plays with my hair.

Is there something I'm missing here?

I've had this creativity surge all of a sudden and ideas are pouring out of me so hopefully I keep pumping out chapters.
